garbage. Magnesium rod fell off on strike 2
garbage. Magnesium rod fell off on strike 2... just crap. it looks like ferro rod, but its not. its magnesium to get shavings and flint to light it up.

Not the best rods out there. Strike was low and hard to use.

They work
The break easy. Get several and learn to use them. They do great fairly easy.

Not bad!
These are pretty good, but keep in mind that only a small part of the rod actually creates sparks. The rest of the rod is magnesium that can be scraped off to create tinder. I don't know how many uses you can get from these, but they do work nicely.

Steel rod doesn't spark. Does not work as advertised.
