It doesn't take all the air out completely but enough to do the job.. I have been used to using the manual pump with different bags and you can pump it until there is absolutely no air left

Good, low cost vacuum sealer system with reasonably priced supplies. Can be tough to use if you leave the bag long or short.

It works exactly as advertised, and yes I did read the manual! About the only thing I'm not too keen on is that fact that this product seems to follow the old Gilette razor and blade business strategy. I.e., sell the razor (the sealer in this case) at or near COGS and make your money on the supplies needed such as razor blades (or bags in this case). The older vacuum bags (manual pump to withdraw air) were reusable many times. Admittedly, one can keep resealing the new bags if you are careful and don't fill them too full!

The first one that I purchased worked great for maybe 2 1/2 years, then the piston rod in the vacuum pump wore out. According to the manufacturer, there is no fix. It's a shame as a $1.00 (my estimated value) part renders the unit useless.The second one that I purchased worked for maybe 6-8 months. It started sealing the bag almost as soon as I started it with the bag only being partially vacuumed but fully sealed.Not sure what I am going to do now. I guess if you get a good one it will serve you well.

Well I’m not sure this ziploc sealer was new as it’s covered in scratches and smudges that don’t show up in pictures. The sealer it’s self seems to be in working order once I cleaned it up for use. Has good suction and sealing power. It was easier to use than my older ziploc that just broke after years of use.

My roommate had one and I used it all the time. When she moved out it went with her (I know, the nerve, lol) and I really missed it. When the first came out years ago I thought they were useless but I was very wrong.

My 15 yr old ProLock sealer finally died. Other sites rate the Ziplock well. The 250 series I intended to buy; I discovered it was discontinued 3 yrs ago and Amazon sellers neglected to state that fact. So I contacted Ziplock and they told me the V203 was the current model and the one to buy. I purchased it here. The one I received had multiple covered up old shipping style labels on the box and places where some had been removed. It was supposed to be a new, unused product. Well I never could get it to vacuum the air out of the bag. It would seal fine and sometimes remove a bit of air. I could hear the pump running for a short time and then it would seal. Like I stated I have been using vacuum sealers for years, actually since late 70's. I have never seen one so hard to close and so totally ineffective. You could purchase almost any sealer and be better off than with a Ziplock.

I LOVE this product! A mother of 4, we eat a lot and its super easy to manage meals with this product.
