Westcott Box Cutter Safety Ceramic Utility Knife (16475)

Another pleasant surprise. This has become my go to opener replacing a standard razor type opener. I really like that the blade doesn’t seem sharp, but yet it cuts cardboard and tape readily. I really like the fact that the ceramic blade seems dull to the touch on flesh. Amazingly it cuts well on a cardboard box with tape .it also works well. On plastic packages. It definitely has become a permanent fixture in my package opening inventory. there are two of these models and I definitely prefer the one with the blade lock.

If you have kids (or are a clumsy doofus) and order lots of crap, you need one of these. It opens boxes as well as any razor knife, but without damaging the contents, and it retracts automatically. The plastic blade isn't dangerous, even if your feral toddler gets ahold of it. I've been using one for years and have never cut myself with it....and I've been known to cut myself on the box. Best 3 bucks I've ever spent.

I love this safety knife that cuts extremely well and won't cut me!! I highly recommend it to anyone with a project, as I used it for hanging wallpaper and it did a fabulous job. UPDATE: The one negative to this knife is that you must manually push the button to keep the blade out. You cannot "lock" it into place so that it stays out as you are cutting. I still recommend due to the safety and great cutting, but that's become a pain point. It also very easily cuts your drywall when cutting wallpaper, so don't push too hard. It works almost too well!!

I have one of the little ceramic cutters that is magnetic on my refrigerator and it works great for opening packages etc. So I bought this for my husband to use when opening boxes when he gets a shipment in for the garage. Seems to work well so far and I think it is safer than a regular box cutter. It's easy to use. It seems durable and I like the colors so you can't forget where you put it. It's easy to find.

I love these ceramic blade box cutters, I had a small one for years and decided to purchase these full size one, these are always what I use to open boxes and packages, such a cool product, and so affordable.

Very nice cutter for packages but since you have to hold the blade out by pushing on the slider, it MUST be held one specific way and it can be awkward. Otherwise, it works well.
