GE WR49X10283 Genuine OEM Inverter Board for GE Refrigerator

12 year old GE Profile French door fridge and freezer stopped cooling. Fan worked and cleaned the coils of dust but that didn’t work. YouTube said it would likely be the inverter and once we plugged it in the compressor clicked on right away. Easy install and saves me so much money. Extra bonus for including connectors which I needed.

I have a 10 year old ge profile french door refrigerator that stopped cooling. I did some research and narrowed down my problem to 2 possible causes. This part fixed my problem and took only a few minutes to install. The refrigerator is running perfectly now. I have no experience fixing refrigerators and just searched for about 45 min and tried to read about common problems.Here is what I did to diagnose the problem. 1.The refrigerator and freezer both stopped cooling. 2. There was no evidence of ice inside so I was able to rule out a heating element used to defrost. 3. I also, possibly incorrectly, ruled out the evap fan bc the compressor was not running. 4. I pulled out the refrigerator and could see the condenser fan working. 5. The inside display was working and the condenser fan mentioned earlier was functioning so I guessed that the main board was most likely fine? At this point I was pretty sure either the compressor went out or it was this inverter board. If I had more time I would have used a multimeter to be sure but I did not have one hand. I found a few videos that were good that laid out how to diagnose. If you have a multimeter just search troubleshooting ge inverter board.When I got the part it was a different color and the casing was not the same as what was on the part I took off the refrigerator. I got what is pictured in the description but I compared the part numbers and they matched up closely aside from the last few numbers. I still decided to give it a try. I was able to plug in 1 wire connector but could not plug in the other. Apparently this can be used on different models of refrigerators bc it comes with adapters and 1 of them allowed me to connect the other wire connector. I then connected the ground and plugged the connector into the pins on the compressor. Then you just slide the box into the bracket and fasten with the screw and you are all done.The part came packaged in a genuine ge sealed bag. I was quite happy to have solved the problem and saved myself from having to buy a new refrigerator. I hope this review might help others.

The part match with my appliance and work properly

This inverter fixed my fridge which was working but not cold enough. This replacement part has an external heat sink plate on the outside of the plastic housing. When I took off the old part off, the plastic housing was brown and burnt where the capacitors were on the mother board. Hopefully, the enhanced cooling will make this replacement inverter survive longer. My fridge is keeping things cold again.

This was used to repair my GE profile refrigerator. Nobody else had this part readily available but Amazon came through. My local appliance parts supplier told me to replace the main board first but it was $400 so I found a very good video on how to perform proper diagnosis on this fridge. Installed the inverter board on Nov 24th and fridge has been working great ever since. I can send more detailed diagnostics if needed. Bottom line is that it is repaired and in a timely fashion. Price was great too !!.
