Black and Decker ATM100 Autotape Auto Tape Measure Powered Tape Rule

The product had used hidden in the details. It was listed, just not easy to notice! My biggest complaint was that I ordered it for my birthday to use on a home project. I got in on time to use it, but it was not new. It had paint splashed on it and did not work once batteries were placed in it! I returned it, and I have to say it is the only purchase in 8 years from Amazon I was very displeased with! Amazon did give me a full refund!

When this tape works, it is awesome. However, the one I received did not function. I have one that I've had for years and purchased this one as a gift. Was not able to find one in a brick and mortar location.

Bought this item for a gift, I already owned one and thought it was so cool, I'd give it as a gift too, easy to operate

Good idea but... It only measures in inches! What brainiac invented this? All the problems of the reviews I read and more... who wants to break down what 286 1/4" is into feet and inches remaining. Works good at home for my wife putting up picture frames, but that is about it...

Tape worked OK until I fully estended it and it came out of the holder. The taped didnt break, but there is no way to reinsert the tape or open the case due to security screws. I'm sure it is a simple fix to reattach the tape, but with the security screws on the casing it's just a paperweight now.

This really is a fantastic tape measure. One handed ease of use is a professional's dream and the home repair guy's next gotta-have-it tool ! Amazon has a great price on this item in the Marketplace, and once you receive your tape measure, from the first time you use it, you'll quickly find that it was money well spent.

This is my second one and unintentionally I packaged an old one up I had for approximately eight months. After being notified by the shipper that the one I sent was dirty and had residue inside, they had to charge me which was fine.This kind of item should not stop working due to dust and dirt because with use dust and dirt are “normal” wear and tear because there is mo way of preventing it or cleaning the ruler. As it was I used WD40 occasionally when it stopped working mechanically.It must be meant for housewives and sewing.
