Ace of Play Balance Bike - The Lightest Balance Bike Available - Perfect for Kids 18 Months to 5 Years

We've been trying to get my 5-year-old son to take off his training wheels. We tried a few tricks - running and then letting go (he just puts his foot down), holding him up with a belt under his arms and then sliding it off as he rides away (that sort of worked for a few seconds and then he put his foot down again). Tbh, the training wheels weren't even touching the ground at this point but it's the lack of confidence and just security of it on.So our friend suggested the balance bike. We wanted one that was lightweight and adjustable for my 5-year-old and possibly allow my 2-year-old to ride it as well. Once we received it, we took off the training wheels off the pedal bike and gave my son the ultimatum. You ride the balance bike until you can ride the 2-wheel bike without training wheels.Within half an hour of riding the balance bike, my son picked up the two-wheel pedal bike and started pedaling like he wasn't afraid of it just that morning. It gave him confidence that he could do without the training wheels. We were shocked at how fast the transition was. He's now riding his two-wheel bike all over the place. The two-year-old inherited the balance bike, however, she's not quite tall enough.Cons: When the seat is lowered all the way down, the bar drags on the ground. It needs to be tightened slightly higher than the lowest setting.TIp: When you adjust the height of the handlebars, hold the wheel between your knees as you're tightening, so that the handlebars do not get tightened in an awkward position. The kids had some giggles over the handlebars being in weird positions as they tried to ride it because I tightened without holding the wheel steady.

This balance bike is perfect for teaching a nervous child to get comfortable balancing on their own without the distraction of trying to pedal. My 6 year old spent barely 15 hours on this bike before gaining enough confidence to glide down a gentle hill without touching the ground until slowing herself to stop at the end. She was soon eager to return to her traditional bike which she had been afraid of falling off. She is now a confident bicyclist who rarely crashes and is good at catching herself when she does. I highly recommend!!!

I liked that this bike was cheaper than the competitor's yet still had good reviews. I also liked that the description said it could be used as early as 18 months (though on the box it said 3 years and up), though I wasn't sure why this one would be able to and not others. Anyway, I didn't realize when I purchased it that it didn't have pegs for my daughter to rest her feet by the front wheel like most of the other balance bikes do. However, I don't know yet if that is even a problem because the seat at its lowest setting does not go nearly low enough for my 18 month old daughter's feet to touch the ground. My dad is quite handy and made a new pole for the seat so it goes much lower now but I don't think the average person would be able to do that, and nonetheless it's still not low enough.

My 17 month is pretty small 30” tall and 19 lbs. he absolutely LOVES this bike! It’s lightweight so he can pick it up and my husband is really into bike so he was able to shorten the seat post so we could have it all the way down so Ace (our sons name) could touch the ground. Our little one can already walk around with it and loves when we push him. I would buy this bike over and over again. Such an amazing purchase!!

Ordered it as a birthday gift for my 2-year old son two months ago. He has just started walking with the bike now. I liked the design compared to other balance bikes where the middle bar connecting to the handle to the back wheel is straight. Helps the kids to walk into the bike and out of it. The shipping cost to India was much lesser compared to other bikes. Received the package in excellent condition and was delivered in time for the birthday.

We bought it for our three-year-olds birthday. We plan to give it to him Saturday. It looks good, and would have been easy to put together if my husband hadn't put it together upside down....It's ok now. :)

This was a great find. My grandson of just 2 years old took to this bike first day. One day later, he is on his toes but still able to ride this bike all over the house. My son said "Nana" did it again with his favorite gift. It is so light that it is easy for the young ones to get the swing of riding and pushing with their feet. I am very pleased with this little bike.

Very happy with this balance bike! My 6 year old who weighs 42 pounds prefers a balance bike over a regular bike still. This bike is light weight but very sturdy. I’m so happy we found a bike that still fits him. And looks very sporty. Would definitely recommend!
