HouseHaunters "Get Me Outta This Cage" Gorilla and Cage Costume Kit

Great Costume, as everyone said, everyone loved it and took pictures with me, winning prize as well. I did however find below tips helpful.1) packaged arrived and the poles for cage were inside other poles with connectors in them, so originally I thought I was short, but then saw it was condensed for shipping.2) I am 5'4" and would not advise for anyone over another 5-6 inches taller to wear, or very slender man.3) the slip on feet were really snug, so I cut them a little and put my slip on shoes inside the costume feet and left them in the feet to make it easier to slip on and off. After walking around all night, they did tend to tear a little farther down the foot, but that was after a few hours of waling outside and in the rain trick or treating with kids.4) I took suggestion to wear a hat and it did help. I bought a cheap plastic party city zoo keeper hat and it did take some of the pressure off the top of your head, as the cage will rest on it, and pending where the bars lay, can slip off your head.5) I bought string that looked like vines with little leafs on amazon as well and tied it around the cage, not only to make it look better but to hold it secure. *However, by doing this, I did not put the costume on stepping through the cage as instructed, I had the cage complete and had it rest on my counter, and then out that night, cage sat on my trunk, and I entered one leg into costume, then put my body up into cage and pulled my other leg into the costume leg. This did make me have to bend my leg back to fit in, so just make sure you can get into it still. You could tear the leg openings farther down and extend Velcro for ease.6) the leg harness does help take some of the weight off you on the cage, so ensure to use that and I also used jeans with belt that was a "pull tight" belt, not the belt kind with holes, so I closed off the pants real tight, then looped the end of the belt under the cage and actually pulled it up and held onto that with one hand as I walked. It helped me hold some of the weight verse resting on your head.7) Ensure to wear black pants as my Velcro on inner legs starting to open after walking in it for some time, but no one could tell with my black pants.8) someone said the head kept falling off costume, so I safety pinned the head on and after I stuffed the body with papers, I pinned the body closed and bags of stuffing inside pinned to ensure it wouldn't move.Great costume, will take some time and may have to make your own changes, but worth it! Not comfortable for long periods of time but I found it worth the laughs! All the little kids kept asking me who was carrying me!

NOTE: if you are over 6ft+ or over 220lbs..that's probably max. & best to skip this product if you are over either of those..but a little over, you can hide xtra height w/black socks & the gorilla feet. Otherwise, You're just going to be too big to fit inside the suit/cage (cage--important!) and everything work. Same would go if you're under 5ft 5in / 140lbs..but then, you can always stuff more pillows into this suit, but you're gonna over heat real fast. That's probably the only drawback to this suit. The fur is great, so if the party is indoors carry some kind of small portable USB fan inside the suit. if it's a cold October Halloween go in your underpants. You will NOT get cold.The suit assembles easily--mostly, that's the cage. It's cheap plastic poles but it's light and your hands inside the cage are what holds the cage up. There's straps that's supposed to alleviate cage weight, but the cage is going to sag and the effect is on your lower back if you wear this for over an hour. Even with all this - expect 5 STARS from the reaction of kids and everyone. It's a great suit/ superb Halloween costume. Not the least bit disappointed at all and with reaction of others seeing me in it, I got my money's worth with this product. So will you.

This is amazing. I have absolutely no complaints. I will probably be wearing this every year into the foreseeable future. Bonus? You can still dress up inside of the cage. Maybe next year I will be a pirate kidnapped by a gorilla? Why not? I could probably even dress up the gorilla...But you might want to remember:1. You need to stuff it with things. I used bubble wrap.2. There's no way in hell that you can drive a car in this. Or even really fit in a car very well. I took it off and dressed back up whenever I got somewhere. Not the worst thing, but I'll make sure I have a driver next year.3. Chick magnet and party starter. Absolutely everybody wants to meet the dude in the monkey cage.4. Not the best to hook up in. And peeing takes effort.In all, totally worth it.

This costume was a huge hit. Everywhere I went people wanted to take pictures. The younger kids were all baffled as to how it works, and it started some of the older kids and adults. It is a little trick to get into, but once you figure it out, it is pretty easy. This is an amazing costume, especially for the price. There is some assembly required, so be prepared for that.

Be prepared to improvise. Supporting the cage required some improvising.

This costume took some WORK!! sheds a lot, and is HOT ( but it was cold out so i was fine).... although it really took some ingenuity this costume won me 1st place everywhere I went on Halloween! Its definitely a conversation piece and will turn heads and make mouths drop!! I highly recommend if you are fun-loving and have the time to devote.

This was a pretty good costume and not terribly uncomfortable to wear for several hours. Im 6'1 and it was a tad cramped for me. Had I been a bit more ambitious I may have been able to modify it to fit a little better but it worked for me. Though I had barely any trouble assembling this costume I would say the task is not for the weak hearted. It didnt all just pop together and a few of the pegs to hold the cage together were missing. Luckily I had what I needed to finish it off. All in all a great costume!

This costume was the "hit" of the neighborhood trick or treaters. My son said everyone went and got their cameras to take pictures of him.
