Without the stand the camera doesn't move or adjust up or down at all. It's a must have.

I bought this to keep my hub off the kitchen counter and away from any potential messes. It works exactly as I had hoped.

Works Better Than Expected
I honestly thought I would be returning this as soon as it came in. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it’s pretty useful and that it makes the Google nest hub max a lot more convenient to use. I would encourage anybody that buys this product to tape it to the counter with two-sided tape. That will make all the difference since if it’s not solidly taped to a surface, it is not stable at all. Also, the wire under the base will easily unwrap but the two-sided tape did the trick. It feels 100% more stable and 100% more usable since it’s solidly fixed to the counter.
