This really is a cheap quality corkscrew. I would recommend that you not purchase this product.First, the good: The screw is of the "pigtail" type (not the "drill" type), which is preferred because it tends to chew up the cork less. Okay.The bad: (1) The corkscrew was not well packaged. The package was opened, and the corkscrew itself had some cosmetic damage to the black casing (which is plastic). (2) The upper section is not a solid metal piece, it is plastic with a chrome paint covering it. I discovered this after using the corkscrew for two weeks (of infrequent use), when the chrome paint began to peel off. Now, it still works but looks like a piece of junk. Horrible!I don't understand how there could be no other negative reviews of this extremely inferior-quality product.

The best and easiest to use wine bottle opener I've ever had. So much easier than a simple corkscrew! Even my being left-handed didn't make it any harder to use, unlike others If you drink wine, you need this corkscrew.

Difficult to operate. Will not withdraw cork fully, requires resetting of the screw to, essentially, make 2 pulls each moving the cork half way. It will pull a cork but you have to work hard at it. Construction is very flimsy. I would not expect it to last very long. I've already put it in the metal re-cycling bin.

Arrived quickly and very pleased with this. Replaced one I had for almost 40 yrs!

The corkscrew works great. It is black, sleek, and really easy to clean. I don’t recommend soaking the corkscrew in water, because it will rust and look unpleasant. It is also able to open bottle caps, perfect for beers. Truthfully there isn't much more to say than that other than how to use it.So, to begin using, clean the corkscrew since dust and other particles could have coated the product. With the spiral end, you will twist into the cork of the wine bottle until it is mostly in. As you twist the corkscrew into the cork you will notice the flaps on the side go up. You will then pull the two sides down (like squeezing an orange) and this will uncork the bottle.
