Eton American Red Cross Blackout Buddy Charge Emergency LED Flashlight & Phone Charger

My husband came across these a few years ago and we've purchased a TON of them for just about everyone we know. They have worked for us when the power has gone out due to high winds, fires, earthquakes, etc. My family members used theirs recently during and after Hurricane Helene (2024). They provide emergency lighting if your power goes out, can be a nightlight or flashlight at any time, and can also be used to charge your phone (make sure you have an "old fashioned" USB cable on hand). Would recommend these no matter where you live.

This does light up half my house during a power outage with no lights. Expect to take up a whole outlet with this thing, the second receptacle ground pin will be covered up by the light.

Good quality. I like it having in my bathroom as a night light and for occasional blackouts.

The original was great to have when the power went out. It immediately comes on nice and bright so you aren't sitting in the dark and can use it as a flashlight to get out your emergency kit . But this new version also has a long lasting battery (if you don't keep using the flashlight) and USB ports so you can charge your mobile phone or laptop up from it even if it's been a day since the power went out. I never used the flashlight for more than 10 minutes anyway. Only until I got my emergency kit set up and had every room prepared from those supplies. Then I put the Eton back into the wall socket so it would be right where I need it for next time.This should be a basic part of your emergency preparations.

I plugged it in as soon as I got it, didn’t take long at all for it to charge, I picked it up at night, and it lit up. The whole room would be great in case of an emergency.

We recently had a power outage and my cell phone battery was extremely low. After the power was turned back on I immediately searched for a product that could charge my cell phone and provide light during the next power outage.I came across this and ordered it immediately. I tested it as soon as I got it and really liked the fact that it's a 2 in 1 product and I no longer have to worry about having a low cell phone battery during a power outage again. I recently bought a second one so my husband and daughter can also charge their cell phones if needed as well. Buy it you won't regret it!

I bought a previous version of this product and have been happy with it. After a storm last year, I figured I'd get a couple more. Finally plugged them in and I hear the high pitched noise others have mentioned out of both of them. A good product is now a piece of junk. And I can't return it now!I was considering giving these as Christmas gifts to family members. But no way can I do that now.I have no plans to buy anymore Eton products.

These are awesome for power outages to be able to charge your mobile phone or even if you take it with you on vacation so you can always have a way to charge you phone. Very handy device.
