Very good book but you need to know iOS coding first
If you're new to iOS coding and trying to find a book to learn to make apps, this is not the first book you should purchase. You should buy iOS programming books from Big Nerd Ranch. They have very good Objective-C and iOS books to teach you how to code from a beginners perspective. This book is geared toward those that know iOS coding and are looking for ways to implement specific parts into their code, hence the 'cookbook' name. It will walk you thru how to implement specific features much the same way a cook will use their recipe cards. You can get a lot of information from this book and the author will walk you thru those features or code snippets to help you build your app. This isn't the first book you should buy to learn iOS development but it is probably the 2nd or 3rd book you should buy.

Complete, but code style is annoying
Great book. Nahavandipoor knows iOS very thoroughly. However, I'm not crazy about the code style. In the examples, code to do something simple is exploded into multiple functions and then the functions are all invoked in perhaps another new function, rather than showing everything in one code block. I understand it's a good practice to decouple your code, but most functions he writes are simply one line of code, and they can be easily mistaken for built-in class methods that the reader might expect to auto-complete as they are typed. As a result you might read through 60 lines of code instead of 20, because of all the method declarations and variable instantiations. The networking section is nice but has no info about uploading files. There is a new section Dynamic and Interactive UIs which is nice. Auto-Layout chapter contains barely 2 pages for using interface builder to configure auto-layout constraints which is not nearly enough for explaining this complex task.Overall the book is very complete with a lot of good info, and is a good reference.

Descent
It is an ok book. Some parts are detailed and very thorough but the author glosses over certain parts which I find annyoing. In terms of readability, I find Ray Wenderlich's book much better because it guides you through the whole develoment process whilie covering many different subjects. It also teaches you about iOS design patterns and development strategies along the way instead of just throwing at you a whole bunch of iOS framework stuff piece by piece.[...]I do use this book to look up about certain functions. All in all, this is more like a reference book than anything else so if you are looking for a tutorial type of book, you may be disappointed.

Great book!
I'm an experienced iOS developer and used this to brush up on some of the latest features in iOS 7 (and perhaps any fundamentals that I may have missed). In general, this was a great read. Recommended.

Worthy Read
I had works through about a third of the book on safariflow, and now that it's out I picked it up. It does a good job of covering iOS7.

it's an ok book
Pretty good book that can give you just about all you'll need to get started in iOS. Obviously, Vandad is an awesome developer, but I was looking for a book that focuses on new iOS 7 functionality. Unfortunately, the vast majority of content this book covers is focused primarily on existing functionality, showing a few ways to take advantage of some of the new iOS 7 features.

Good book but pay attention to the title
As the title states, this is a cookbook full of ideas and code snippets about how to utilize various objects and subclasses within the iOS framwork. It is NOT a complete tutorial on how to make apps for iOS 7.I'll keep on my shelf and it undoubtedly will become a good reference matieral.

Good book, help me a lot
Good, almost complete, although it doesn't go deep about issues covered. It's very usefull for whom are initiating at iOS development.

Clear and concise example of many IOS features for those ...
Clear and concise example of many IOS features for those that already have some understanding of Objective C and the basics of IOS. If you have just started programming in IOS and want just the skinny on certain functions then this book is for you. If you are just learning Object C then probably not the book for you.

Not bad
Was expecting more sample programs to see how it all works together but on saying that I'm only half way through, we'll see if I understand it more at the end.
