channel 1 bad
Good router but the 1st channel locked everything on my network up. The other 3 channels worked fine for me.

Good, but not perfect
I have had this a week or so an I am a little frustrated with it.For the record I'm using this on NTL/Virgin with a Vista box. It's small, light and stylish. None of these are important to me.Set up was virtually unneccessary, just plugged it in and it ran first time. The only thing I did was to change the password (always recommended). All was great. Then I inserted to the CD that came with it to see what else I could do. The wizard ran and after about the fifth screen internet connection was dropped. Couldn't get it back. Tried the hardware reset on back. Didn't seem to work. Tried the software reset and that did work. Happy, or so I thought. Now every time I power up, connection is made very quickly, and is there for sufficient time to get the latest notification of updates....Then it drops the connection. You can ping the outside address, but nothing beyond it. This happens everytime. I though it might have something to do with MAC address but apparently not. The way I overcome this is to open the web interface, choose a page at random, then without making any changes, click the 'Save Settings' button. It bursts back into life and continues to work uninterrupted for the duration. I do not want to leave the thing switched on when not in use (which might be a solution, but one I won't use).I don't seem to have any other issues with it (speed is fine, reliable so far) and so may continue using it and will do more searching to see if there is a resolution to problem (I actually want to use my computer for doing interesting things rather than hunting for solutions everytime I add a new device).Bought from Amazon, ordered Monday evening, arrived by first class post with another item Wednesday morning, so Amazon gets 5 stars again.

little gem
purchased this unit second hand from amazon and it solved all my problems instantly...i run two pc`s from it and a wdtv live media player,my ps3,and a laptop (all from comtrend adapters)...it is flawless with a range of online security options etc to configure; it was origionally supplied with no set up disc or instructions but i went str8 to their website and sorted it all from there....it was up and running for me within half an hour and seemed to all but configure itself....all other devices on the loop worked fine too with no configuration problems....fantastic bit of kit and i highly recommmend it to anyone...i saw a review from someone who`s unit failed after 6 months...well with all due respect i`ve purchased many items in the past, usually expensive and from leading brand makers and you`re always going to get a percentage of rogue goods no matter what it is or how much you paid..i even bought a brand new car last year costing over £20,000 and just about everything failed on that and it had to be replaced...buy with confidence as i discovered i did!!!

Up and running in under 5 minutes on NTL broadband
I've had this fantastic bit of kit for over a year now. Works great! My only beef with it is that the price has dropped since I bought it - but my loss is your gain!Installation with NTL is a doddle - all you need is the MAC address of the PC that is registered with NTL (the manual tells you how to get this).I run a desktop PC & laptop (both with Win2k), an old 486 (running Linux) and a PlayStation2 with network adapter (either with network games or running Linux). One thing to consider though is the cabling ... if your kit is distributed around the house then you may want to consider the (slightly more expensive) wireless version. However this gets more costly if you want to support games consoles - you'll need an external ethernet/wi-fi bridge - but Linksys do one of those too!

Linksys Etherfast Cable / DSL Router BEFSR41
When I opened the box I was a very surprised at the assembly of the unit as it is so well made . Being connected to the NTL broadband system, I didn't think that I would be successful with the connection, but I plugged it in with some caution . I thus followed the instruction manual and it was incredibly simple, in fact I was up and running in about 20 minutes and that was including reading the manual. It was even easier connecting my second computer as It connected with no effort from me at all apart from plugging it in and switching on and I did not have to do anything else . Fantastic product, I all I can say about it I am delighted with it and will certainly buy another piece of equipment from Linksys (via Amazon) in the future if all are as simple as this one is . Well Done Linksys !!!

Good but not for Tomato
I ordered it by mistake. I was looking for the WRT types for using it with Tomato etc.But the price (used) was such that I didn't feel like returning it and ended up using it as an additional router. It is still good.
