Red Hound Auto (2) Safety Chain RePair Link 3/8 Inches Twin Clevis 6600 WLL

Purchased to attach safety chains to a used 10K equipment trailer that we recently purchased. The pins were so loose I was afraid they wouldn't pass DOT inspection. When I say loose, it was like the pins were 5/16" & the holes in the links were 3/8". It was really bad. Embarrassingly bad.I woulda/shoulda sent them back but I needed that trailer legal then & there.I ended up swapping links with ones on the backhoe for the chains that hold the outriggers up during transport. Much less critical application.The new trailer passed inspection without issue. I feel if I had used these for the safety chains, I would of been negligent. These will be the weakest link in your chain.I wouldn't think of using these for any application where they could actually need to support some weight or load. It's not worth the risk that I might get taken out of service for something like these. Spend more & buy something else.

used this to repair some broken links in 3/8 chain, works great and looks like its a good qualityeasy to use

I used these to adjust the safety chains on our utility trailer. I my wife's SUV needs them shorter than my truck. This way we didn't have to make any permanent modifications.

Heavy weight, high quality, cast double clevis. It attaches to the chain with a removable pin -- just like some of the hooks I use with no problems. Stronger and more secure than any other style of chain repair link I have used or seen. This is the good stuff. Be confident of your chain. And it was priced right... and you get two. I'm happy.

What is there to say about them. They work.

One of the holes drilled for the cotter pins was not aligned properly. The pin had to be replaced. Fortunately I had one in the shop.
