Rothco Boonie Hat - Ultimate Sun Defense for Outdoor Adventures - Olive Drab - 7

I like this hat because I can wear on my boat and get it wet without the brim sagging down over my eyes like most of the wider brim hats out there. It seems to be a thicker grade of canvas fabric that just feels durable. I also has the chin strap to keep it from blowing off my head at some speed or in a stiff wind. I would buy this again.

First off, try to remember that this is a $13 hat. It isn't military issue or milspec, and I don't think it was ever intended to fool anyone into thinking the wearer is GI Joe (nor was that my expectation when I ordered it). Overall quality is fine. It is a decent Boonie hat reproduction, and for the price, it suits me well enough. Fit was true to size.Now some negatives...I agree with other reviewers that the hat came so tightly rolled into a small bag that it caused unwanted creases that are difficult (but not impossible) to remove, and one side of the chin strap was so far out of place that it was unusable until I detached it and sewed it back into a more appropriate location. It's always disappointing to see that something is made in China, but these are the times we live in. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this hat for my son to keep the sun off his face neck and ears on a summer boy scout trip, he said it was comfortable and he didn't have a sunburn when he got home a week later in the sun constantly. The hat is light durable and breathable. Recommended I might get one myself now

It fit great and I used it for Land Surveying.

Nice hat, right price. Even though it's made in China, it's every bit as good as an original from the 60s. Fit my melon head nicely. 23 1/2 inch head, 7 3/4 hat size.

Correct in the size. It does take a day or two to get it into shape. Packaged in a tight little ball. Great look and feel.

I bought it because I just liked the look of it. I haven't been disappointed. To relax it I dunked it in the sink and just rinsed, then let it dry. Came out perfect!

I have a large head, but hat fits well. Chin strap keeps it firmly fitted while travelling from fishing spot to fishing spot. Well made!

I ordered a size up to ensure it would not be small on my head, and to my surprise, it fits very comfortably. The mechanism that tightens the hat (on the chin strap) works, but could have been slightly improved.

despite being only a quarter of an inch bigger than the other one I have It feels larger, but makes it more comfortable
