A little outdated.
The best book we could find for our trip. Needs to be updated, but the most current

Perfect for my Trip
This guide is an excellent overview of French Polynesia and summarizes the necessary information in a readable format. Compact lightweight paperback fits easily into your carryon. Take this guide with you for offline (no mobile phone service) reference.

Outdated edition from 2016
This Edition is outdated and you will find a lot of info which is not valid anymore. We are traveling French Polynesia right now, even if it is at the end of the world and paradise , times also move forward here. Hotels, places and restaurants etc. do change. Not worth the purchase if you want a hardcopy in your hand.

Excellent used book -Lonely Planet Tahiti Tour Guide
This is 10th edition printed Dec. 2016. I borrowed eBook from library at first. I bought a copy because I liked the book (maps, pictures, history and culture writing) and I wanted to have access to information readily when and where WIFI or tablet is not available. The book was delivered on time and in a great condition.I just came back from one week stay in the island of Tahiti and two weeks of cruising in March 2022. Majority of information are unchanged but some information are old. During the COVID lock down some businesses closed, new businesses opened, the government added COVID related travel requirements, and new airlines started services. I cannot talk about resort accommodations since I did not stay at any of them.It is a great book and is one of my lovely Tahiti memory piece.

Good Overall Guidebook
This book not only tells you about the hotels and eateries and beaches, but it also delves into history, culture and everything you need to know to understand your surroundings. I read lots of guidebooks but this is truly one of the best.

Tahiti
This book came in handy as I visited Polynesia. Lots of fun facts, dining, transportation, photo ops, sightseeing. Inexpensive and worth it

Nice but not comprehensive
I was expecting a bit more from this book since I have other lonely planet books. Just bought it for an upcoming trip.Since it was a preorder I ended up doing a lot of Internet searching before the book arrived. Sadly, the book contains very minimal information and the authors seem to be a bit biased on certain hotels. I have a group of traveling friends and when they read what the authors stated about some of the hotels my friends thought they were off the mark more than slightly. I personally did not get enough detailed information on the topics I was interested in. I have had better luck lately with Fodor's books. This book tried to cover a wide range of French Polynesia but did not provide the level I am used to in other travel guides. If I change my mind after my trip I will certainly update my review.
