Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Detangler, 6 Ounce

Works like a charm for my 13yr old daughter who has the hair of 10 grown women! Seriously, you think I'm kidding. See the attached picture...She cannot use use conditioner except at the ends because her hair will be super oily by the end of the day (she washes at night & doesn't blow dry... it would take at least 45 minutes. Trust me, we've tried).I used to have hair like this too, until I had her and started getting older. I only wish Not your Mother's was around back then.The smell is typical, but not bad.What I love is that her hair is wet when she goes to bed, easily brushed out, and not a grease pit by lunch.... as it would be with EVERY other leave in, detangler, & conditioner we've tried.I order here because believe it or not, Target stopped carrying it. So did Walmart and Walgreens. They carry the other Not your Mother's products, just not this one. It's fine... I'm a Prime member for a reason!!!Understand that I do not write misleading/fake reviews. Or back products that we don't use daily! As a small business owner, I believe in leaving honest reviews so people know what they're getting!

I am really Happy with this product. I've tried so many different products for my 4 year olds hair (including It's a 10 products that ppl rave about), and this has been the best one yet. It smells good, and I love the bottle itself because I can still get a good grip on it and spray it even with wet hands. It definitely helps the brush glide thru easier, and doesn't leave any residue on the hair that makes it feel stiff or greasy. My daughter is Caucasian with thinner curly hair that knots very easily. This has saved us a lot of time and a lot of tears.

As a guy with heavy curls I have never found anything that clears tangles easily. Except this. Works exceptionally well. The smell is ok; I like to smell a little manly; so if it bothers you at all get a little bottle of quality grapefruit essential oil and add a drop or two to some water and rub or splash it on during brushing.  Grapefruit 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil by Edens Garden- 10 ml  Grapefruit neutralizes pretty much every odor, I use it to kill just about any odor. My daughter spent 38 days in Army ROTC advance camp and requested a care package containing spandex underwear, moleskin, scissors, anything for blisters, and hair detangler. What’s a dad to do? I went into quick Amazon action on my phone. Read review after review especially on items I have no experience with (women’s spandex underwear, and hair detangler). Well, she survived and graduated. When we picked up from Fort Knox, she said everything was a life saver. I just asked her about star rating and she said 5 stars on everything including Amazon delivering everything to Fort Knox, KY so quickly. Hooah!

I was looking for a detangler that was for “adults”, as I feel the kids brand detanglers (the only ones I’ve seen in stores) barely make a difference. I have long, thick, wavy, frizzy, chemically bleached hair, and no matter what I do, it is in KNOTS by the end of the night. Trying to comb my hair before the shower & after was usually super painful & took forever. UNTIL I discovered this magical gem. It nourishes your hair & detangles it in seconds. I will be purchasing this for the rest of my life!! No need to buy an expensive detangler when you can get amazing results with this!

I hate the perfume smell! When we read at night or she sits on my lap after having this applied to her hair I start to get a headache. If you are sensitive to smells try something else. However, the detangler does a great job! Whether her hair is wet or dry I am able to pick out the knots with little difficulty and little pain.

My son (age 8) already uses NYM Co-wash so I hoped that this detangler would be effective and protect his curls. He has medium thickness hair and a moderate amount of it. He's of middle eastern ethnicity. It works very effectively and it has a very light scent that quickly dissipates. He's been using it for several months and I have replaced it three times now. I've used it on my hair and it's effective. My hair is only wavy. My hair is fine. I am also of middle eastern ethnicity.

I have SUPER natural African American hair. It’s so kinky and dry and gets tangled so badly once it dries after washing. This product worked wonders on my hair, even after drying my hair was still manageable and it didn’t hurt terribly combing through it like it normally does. I haven’t had that experience with any other leave in conditioners that say it will work for my hair type. The only downfall is the size of the bottle, I feel like this will only last for maybe two..possibly three wash days.
