Casual loafer with a rugged outsole.
You'll love the low-profile look of the Castro from Globe with its casual-cool appeal that you can wear every day. Hand-sewn details give this sporty slip-on a moccasin-inspired edge, while breathable linings resist slippage. Its EVA/latex blend insole deliver optimal arch support and the sticky rubber outsole enhances footing--weather you ride a board or not.

At Globe they have a healthy disrespect for the established way of doing things, and they embrace new ways of looking at the world. For them, it's always a time for change. In this day and age they’ve adopted a KNOW HOPE philosophy, whereby they are looking at the future with wide eyes and taking every opportunity to be creative. Globe team riders, who happen to be some of the best in the world, are a party to the products, but Globe also listens to their customers, constantly evolving with them, so they don't lose their edge. It's what keeps them inspired, progressive and able to stay fresh when so many others are pushing the same-old sameness.

Globe Castro = Slip-on Perfection
The perfect slip-on. As far as slip-ons/house shoes are concerned, the Globe Castros are KING. They are slip-on skate shoes essentially, so that durability that's expected in a shoe that would be used to skate is present in a shoe that would likely be used to go to 7-11 or lounge around or something. A few reviewers have said and/or posted pictures of the seams coming apart. For what it's worth I haven't had that issue and I'm on my 10th pair (I wear them all the time). Something must be said for the brilliantly understated design. Clearly my Globe Castro fandom is shining through, but these slip-ons are a work of art in the proper colorways. Globe offers a variety of colorways but the Black/Charcoal and the Granite/Khaki are really the standouts aesthetically (and subjectively) speaking. I only wish Globe would make more colorways in the Black/Charcoal and Granite/Khaki vein, you know, more understated as opposed to the pinstripe or tweed colorways. Sizing is an issue for me. I am a 12.5 in sneakers. There is about a half-inch of space (much more than I would like) between my heel and the back of the Castro in a size 13 and I can't fit into a size 12 Castro without feeling pain. I choose the 13 begrudgingly but I wish they would consider half-sizes. In summation, I love the Globe Castro and I have 10 pairs to prove it (well 2 actually. The other 8 have been used to death)! Anyone in the market for a slip-on that can be worn outdoors has landed on the right page! Look no further!

This is the second pair I have bought for my boyfriend. The first pair the stitching holding the top part together came undone. I was able to weave the stitching back together but the look and fit were not the same. I had hoped this was a one time issue since he likes the style and fit of the shoe. I bought the second pair three weeks ago and the same issue is happening. He only wears these around the house. It is obvious the craftsmanship is poor. Not sure why the price increased when the quality obviously did not. I will be looking at different brands and will not be purchasing these again in the future.

They are cheap and fell apart, 5 pound test would have been stronger
Ehhh I must have got a pair that was made on Friday or a Monday because after wearing them around the house and driving to work in them a handful of times..... They fell apart just like the San Francisco 49ers super bowl 4th quarter, very disappointing, now I’m stuck in corona virus shelter quarantine in Tahoe with a foot of snow on the ground with no slippers and a wet floor due to snow and multiple dogs that seem to have holes in their lipsIt’s day 5 of shelter, still have no slippersYes this is a real review, Not a Recommended Buy

Dont make 'em like they used to.
I don't know where or how they're making them these days, but its just not the same. I have 3 pairs of these. One is over 6 years old. The pair I just bought got about a half hour around the house before they were in pieces. The original Castro is no longer advertised on their website. I'm guessing these are knock offs, or have been sold off to a sweatshop somewhere. Either way, they're junk.

Quality shoe worth every penny.
My 20 something son wears these and I buy these sneakers every year for my elderly dad and father-in-law to wear as slippers. They have incredible support, we’ll padded, excellent grip on the ground, and stay of their feet really good. They both wear them every day and “sneak” out of the house wearing them for everything they can, until they get busted by their wife. I highly recommend them for all ages and all purposes. They last the full year for my dad. Great quality, please keep making them Globe!!!!

Love Me Some Castros!
It's hard to fault the classy, casual lines and solid construction of the Globe Castro series! Far more stylish than similar designs made by DC and other skate brands. I wear Castros on a daily basis and have several pairs spanning several years of production. I was extremely happy to find this "new old stock" pair of the original Black/White Pinstripe patterned Castros in my size available through the Amazon Marketplace! Now my wife and I have matching Castros! These older ones aren't quite as supportive in the arch area and heel surround as more recent versions, but I have others from this generation, some nearly 10 years old, and they are still going strong! I will be sad if Globe ever discontinues these great shoes!

More narrow then my other pairs.
Was really disappointed with these shoes I really wanted a black pair too. I have two other pairs that fit perfect, but this one is significantly more narrow (about the width of a pencil). I guess it ended ok for me kinda. They fit my brothers feet so I just let him keep them.

Snug fit
The shoes look great and appear they will be sturdy as they have solid soles. They fit snug however and I was hoping they would be a little bit wider. I am a size 7 men's, so my feet are small, but wide. These are snug and I hope that they will break in overtime and have a more forgiving fit. Since I intend to wear these more like house shoes than outdoor shoes, I would have bought them a half size bigger than my actual foot size.
