Apple BarrelGloss Acrylic Paint in Assorted Colors (8 oz), Gloss Real Brown

I was VERY disappointed in the Glossy Black acrylic paint. I applied it over a black gesso primer coat (which was applied on clean, unfinished wood), trying two different bottles of the purported Glossy Black, but both bottles came out completely matte. Like almost a chalky matte. Absolutely no gloss whatsoever, and it shows every little fingerprint. Yes, I shook the bottles before applying. Now I need to go out and find another product to add the gloss...

When I opened this bottle, it had an overwhelming musty odor and I almost immediately got a whopping headache. The seal had not been broken before I opened it. I bought other colors and they were okay. My headache lasted two days. I should have returned it so Apple Barrel can figure out what their problem is. I know of others who occasionally get a bottle of Apple Barrel with the same issue. It does seem to be the exception to the rule. A storage issue, maybe?

I am so extremely disappointed in Apple Barrel lately. I do not know what is going on with the QUALITY of their paint. It has changed over the last 6 months or so. It went from smooth, bright gloss paint to dull, clumpy gloss paint. It no longer blends well with other paints and sometimes has a horrible smell. Every now and then, I get a good bottle, which I was really hoping I would get when I ordered from Amazon but the 3 bottles I opened so far are all CLUMPY. Ugh!! I can not use this for the technique that I purchased it for. It is really terrible. I will be contacting apple barrel about this I do not know why the consistency, quality and smell has changed. Such a shame!!! Just so you know... the clumping/ thickness / dull issue is with the black.... the WHITE seems to be the same... the RED is good but sometime has a TOXIC smell that never used to be there about a year ago. So I will definitely be contacting them about this. I've been using their paints over 12 years!!! I have never had this problem until last year...

Covers EXTREMELY WELL! Lots of surface area per drop... yes per DROP!!! Unfinished/unsealed concrete slab 7'x10' was completely covered with no bleed through, no splotching, and the best high gloss sheen I have ever seen from an acrylic non oil base... and it took less than half of ONE BOTTLE!!!! This stuff right here.... freaking AWESOME!!!!!

I’ve been looking for a nice Acrylic gloss paint and found this one. Regular acrylic paint is chalky and flaky. I really love the richness in this paint. The colors are vibrant in color and the layering works great with easy dry! Goes over the canvas like butter! Not real thick though. But I add more coats if I need too, it drys fast. I only wish they had more colors to choose from. I’m pleased with the price as well! I’ve bought all the Primary colors so far.

Apple Barrel is one of the nations leading arts and craft paint companies. I usually purchase this exact paint from a local store so I was very happy to be able to have this delivered right to my door steps. The delivery was quick and on time and also the bottle of paint was intact and had no damage while in transit. This gray paint is excellent for paintings on paper and some plastics and also wood, mostly unfinished would work best. I used this paint on white canvas and also a black canvas, the paint worked perfectly on both surfaces. I would recommend this paint to any beginner painter or crafty person who needs good coverage and enjoys getting a good value for high quality paint.

This paint is a hot mess. Plaid must've gotten it from the very back of their warehouse. It's clumpy and dry, making it very difficult to work with. Although this is an excellent value for the money, do yourself a favor and resist the temptation. Otherwise you'll wind up paying for stringy, lumpy, dry paint. No bueño.

I use this product for acrylic painting, one of the white bottles had gone thick and lumpy when opened to use. I have only opened white and some black so far, I do not know about other bottles yet
