Good light but not great
I installed these Auxbeam F-16 9004 on my 2001 dodge 3500 with reflector housings. Headlights on this truck are terrible with standard halogen lights, to the effect of if something or someone was standing in the road I would not be able to see it in time, so any performace lighting upgrade is a welcome site. I live out in the country and work swing shift so there is a 20 mile drive at night with Deer, Elk, Bear, and Moose as a real concern and 95% percent of my night driving is with the hi beams on. For years I have used Sylvania Silver Star Ultra lights in all my rigs as the upgrade. Silver Star's are in my opinion the best white light halogens on the market for the cost, durability, and performance. I am not a big fan of the blue colored lighting out there so LED was a natural choice. This review will be based on comparing the F-16 LED's to the Sylvania Silver Star as an up grade from halogen to LED. There is a few Pros and Cons with the F-16's, also keep in mind I was and still am very happy with the Silver Stars and this is my first LED adventure. I defogged or removed corrosion from the housing lenses to about 95% of original clarity to get the most advantage from the LED's when I installed them. I Adjusted the housing direction and rotated the LED unit in the locating ring to focus the LED lights for optimal beam pattern. Both F-16 and Silver Star are in the same price range around 50$ respectfully.F-16 PROS or Equivalents- 6000K is a good white color and over all good brightness.- The LED lights up way beyond the sides of the roads very well, making it easier to see animals and objects in Hi beam.- The light REALLY lights up reflective road and hazard signs almost to the point of ruining your night vision.- The light seems to reflect off of deer and elk fur well and really lights up animal eyes.- Less power is used so less heat generated at the connections and lights (Just the drivers produce the heat)- Easy installation in the housing with original lock nut with no modifications needed the LED unit rotates in the lock ring it came with, there is a stopping position but does not have a way to lock the unit in place.- The unit is secured in the housing well and does not have light shaking while driving- I have not had any passing cars alert me to bright lights or in there eyes on low beam.- When switching from Hi to Low beam it is instant with no delay and when the truck is not running the lights are the same brightness which makes it nice when used as work lights.F-16 CONS- Dead spots in the main beam on Hi and Low beam even worse on Hi beam.- Hi beam has a lot of wasted light dispersion or really wide beam lighting half way up the trees. So much so the over all light beam seems dim or hollow on the road.- There is a yellow and blue tint rim on the outer edge of the light beams, but this is more of and annoyance and cheap light look and gives a slight greenish tint to yellow signs and lines in the road.- I don't like the connection to the driver with a slip on rubber gasket connector, not what I would call weather proof.- The LED housing rotates in the holder unit it came with and does not lock down. So far rotating has not been a problem while driving changing the light focus.- Low beam is very concentrated in my lane which is good for oncoming cars but terrible to drive with and reflects off the road to the point of ruining your night vision.- Install directions have a lot to be desiredI have not had them in the truck very long just a couple months so I can't say for longevity yet. I give 3 stars as of right now these F-16 are not much of an upgrade for my application, but more of a horizontal move. There are some advantages and disadvantages, although I would consider this a big upgrade over standard halogen not so much for Silver Stars or equivalent. LED headlights are still in there infancy and near future technology will probably change that. I like the concept of LED's and continue to experiment with other brands in my other rigs. You may have better results with Projector type housings or 4 headlight sport lighting. For now I am satisfied with lights but was hoping for better performance, and quality for the price in my application.

Great upgrade to be seen and to see!
I have a 1992 Toyota Previa and needed to upgrade my headlights. I could barely notice that my headlights were even on in darker roads. The problem with the option of upgrading to brighter lighting, such as LEDs, is that there is a possibility that the headlights are not able to cast the extra brightness of the bulb properly. Essentially, the upgrade LED bulb may create inadvertent glare to oncoming traffic.Fortunately, there was a YouTube reviewer that posted a video of Auxbeam's F16 LED in his Previa. Accordingly to him he has not had people flashing their high beams at him because of glare from the Auxbeam LED bulbs. So I went ahead and ordered a pair.I just returned from a night drive and I can say that no one had flashed their high beams at me. Also, I was paying close attention to how much light was thrown into the interior of people's cars as I drove past. There was not light being cast into people's interiors, so the glare is minimal if there is any at all.Driving down dark roads I was careful to see where the light was being thrown and again there was only minimal light being thrown away from the road. To say the least these Auxbeams work great in my setup.I read online that many LED bulb upgrades are specific to the bulb and application, as in which vehicle you are putting it in. That is specifically why having had a YouTube reviewer confirm the compatibility of these bulbs is essential. I can confirm that these work great in my 1992 Previa, but it would be best to try and find someone with your specific vehicle that can sign off on the compatibility of the LED bulb with your vehicle.Overall, I am greatly satisfied that my lighting needs are met for the time being. The only concern I have with these, and any LED bulb for that matter, is that there is A LOT of heat that these produce. They have a fan, but the heat still concerns me that they will burn out sooner than later. Many reviews have complained about the longevity of these bulbs from burning out. I think that the next generation of LED bulbs will have to have a better cooling method. But for the time being, I think the trade off is still worth the shortened lifespan.Update October 2022: It's been over two years with these bulbs and they are still working great! I will say that I do not drive at night often and when I do, it is typically less than 30 minutes of driving. Overall, I highly recommend these Auxbeam F16's and intend to buy another pair when mine finally burn out.

Good but with a few caveats
I've only used them for about an hour but I can offer some input on these.1. Installation. Not as easy as one would expect. I did get them installed but due to the design, if your vehicle has tight tolerances then these can be a pain to install. I barely got them in. Aside from that they went in really easy in terms of hookups etc.2. Brightness. What an improvement over halogen. As luck would have it I took my truck for a drive after installing them and hit dense fog. They did very well. Hight beams are not much more than low beam but since low beam is already so well lit it hardly matters.3. Longevity. Can't say. I've only run them for an hour.Overall Cons:1. Installation manual. Very weak. It does not mention the need for screwdrivers to install and while they have some detailed pictures, they still suck. The amount of chinglish is small which is surprising. You can understand what they do have pretty well.2. Warranty. They talk about their 2 year warranty and suck you in but when you read the exclusions its pretty bad. They leave themselves lots of room to deny warranty claims. For instance, lets say your bulbs quit working within the two years. They have an exclusion where they will not warranty defective LEDs. They can also exclude claims for "installation problems", narrow housing space or incorrect installation position etc. So, they have left themselves a lot of loopholes to not honor warranty claims.3. Returns. They will ship you an RMA tag etc but from the web site it seems you have to return them to China. So if they pay for the shipping, great but you will still have to wait quite a while so don't expect a new set anytime soon, assuming they actually honor the warranty.
