Everyday Witch Tarot [Blake, Deborah, Alba, Elisabeth] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Everyday Witch Tarot Review: Wonderful Illustrations & Equally Wonderful Color Illustrated Guidbook - Mrs. Bayhylle here the wifey. A positive upbeat take on traditional tarot. Wonderful borderless illustrations with almost jewel-esque type color tones. The inspiration or concept is based off old time-y Halloween postcard illustrations. Who doesn’t like vintage Halloween? It’s foundation is the Rider-Waite Tarot system. The guidebook is fantastic and details each card rather well and after each card description along with full color illustrations of each card is a place for notes. The author takes care in describing each card meaning in a positive & constructive manner. A great deck for both seasoned & beginner readers. The pictures are not overly complicated and is also great for intuitive reading or those wanting to begin reading intuitively. Plus the images are just plain fun to look at. On the one negative point the cards are quite thin and very slippery but overall, Yes I recommend this deck & guidebook set. Included pictures with an average size tarot bag for size comparison. Review: Seeing The Tarot All Over Again - I'm fascinated by tarot. Some years ago, I had quite a few decks..loved each and every one, but gave them away. At that time, I felt I was done with tarot forever. Recent past and now to recent present, I'm growing a new collection! It seems tarot is not done with me.. and I'm glad of it! However, I found the old issues I had with tarot were the same as before: what are the Cards telling me and why am I still confused? Why can't there be a deck that tells you directly what's going on, without bogging one down with arcane symbolism/ meanings? At times, despite gorgeous and lovely artwork, I threw my hands up in the air! Will I ever "get" it? Then, came along Deborah Blake's, Everyday Witch tarot! I was caught by the simple and direct artwork and meanings. I loved the whimsical images. At first, though, I turned my nose up at this modern deck, because I tend toward things that represent bygone times, eras. However! I realized that perhaps..having a tarot "set" in a modern context, could, perhaps, open understandings and unlock previous confusions on my part? Yes? I am happy to nod affirmatively! Ta-dah!!! I love everything about this tarot: the colorful and lively drawings, not staid; the sturdy box the deck came in-- and with magnetic closure, , the pretty blue ribbon, ( blue is my favorite color), the accompanying book..clear explanations with questions for reflection, on and on, I could praise! I, personally, haven't any complaints about the card stock..yes, it does seem to be thinner than other decks, but c'est la vie! I'm after information, learning and understanding..(even with momentary confusions).. and that's okay. There is one card image I'd like to comment on : The Moon. When I first saw it, here on desertcart, I had to laugh. Here's a cat looking at its own reflection in the pool..lost in its own reflections..or illusions. Meanwhile, a witch happens to be flying across the face of the moon..and-- at the time-- of my seeing this image, I found myself giggling..because the witch seemed to be doing the same: laughing ( or cackling) at our silliness! She seemed to be telling me: "don't take yourself or everything you see, so seriously! Go ahead and fool yourself if you want, as long as you remember, it's mostly smoke and mirrors! Ha, ha, ha!" Of course, The Moon is so much more than this, as is the tarot, so much more. Overall, I'd give this deck 100 + stars, if I could. Yippee!!!

Did I Need Another Witch-Themed Tarot Deck? No…Did I Need To Buy the EWT Deck? Yes, Yes I Did!
Just when I thought I didn’t need another witch or pagan-themed divination deck, I start seeing author Deborah Blake’s stunning Everyday Witch Tarot everywhere I look. I am glad I did. What a fantastic deck. And not just because it has a lot of cats in it either, though that is a great selling point for me. So let’s get down to it. The box is big and sturdy enough to hold the 252-page, color-illustrated book and the cards). The cards are the perfect size for shuffling (or ruffling). They seem thin, so I wonder how they will hold up to heavy usage. But the cards are borderless (art from top to bottom) which I love. The deck is Rider-Waite inspired. The artwork (by Elisabeth Alba, who seems to have a background illustrating children’s books) is what drew me in immediately. The images are both whimsical and deep at the same time. My only caveat would be that I wish it was a little more culturally and socially representative as witches come from all corners of the world and all walks of life. I love the book, Deborah Blake does not interpret the cards in reversed positions, but her interpretations are richly developed. She provides a card overview, things to consider, sassy, yet serious quotes under the picture of each card, and a line or two describing the underlying card theme at the beginning of card interpretations. I love her style. She doesn’t just provide lists of keywords or phrases, she really tells the story behind each card. I believe this is more helpful to new Tarot practitioners who often feel like they have to memorize a bunch of keywords rather than letting the images guide their intuition. It was hard for me to decide which cards to highlight as so many spoke to me. Out of the Majors, I chose: the Lovers card. Just look at all the harmony and balance displayed in this image, even the cats’ shadows reflect this. And the fire seems to blends these energies, revealing “the power of love”. The Minor Arcana’s Aces all represent their elemental associations well. The 3 of Swords card shows heartache, yet the journal on the bed indicates trying to come to terms with the pain and hopefully learn something from it. The 2 of Pentacles truly shows what a balancing act life can be at times. The 10 of Cups card emphasizes what’s really important in life…the people (and animals) we love. The 7 of Wands depicts a Witch and her cat in a defensive stand, even when, as Deborah Blake explains, that may no longer be necessary. So if you are a Witch, or just an avid Tarot reader, or collector, I recommend adding this deck to your collection, and using them. I dove in immediately and haven’t come up for air since!

I was very drawn to this deck and happy to receive the beautiful box with book and cards. At first I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the cards. The very first time I shuffled the deck I damaged a card. I might be clumsy, but still, you should be able to shuffle without bending and making creases in the cards so easily. But after using them I'm actually very happy, they're light and the artwork is beautiful. It takes me back to childhood and picture books. The guide book is great for beginners like me.

Felt the brand new product was a bit pricey and went with the "used - as new" option that was available. All the cards are there and the guidebook is in perfect condition. Only the inside of the box shows a bit a use. Comes in a big "gift set" type box, which I was not expecting, so it's considerably bigger than I was expecting. The cards themselves are standard size. They are gorgeous! I decided to get them after I had a reading done and the person was using this deck. The artwork is superb and very communicative. The guidebook is big and really well done; it reads a bit like a story. Love it!

Beautiful deck of cards - I LOVE the illustrations! They give you a real fairytale feel. Great book as well - definitely comes in handy as the interpretations are really well written. Beginners will benefit greatly. I don't agree with those who say the cards are paper thin and can't be shuffled. They are no thinner than my previous tarot deck. If you are used to oracle cards, however, they may feel thin. Good quality, though!
