Works great, better design
The original thermocouple and the one on the AO replacement burner assembly sat right next to the burner, where the flame would hit the thermocouple and part of the pilot light. On this one, both sit further away, so I imagine it will last longer and work better. It has been working great so far.

AO Smith Pilot Kit
Perfect! .....except for one small thing....the lines are a little longer than I expected but that is a very minor point. This "forced" replacement allowed me to flush the water heater, vacuum out all of the debris in the "cooking chamber", and saved me probably $350 overall. And, it was not that hard at all. Take pictures and watch the youtube videos and you will be fine. Thank you!

Fast delivery - product as described - easy installation
After diagnosing why the pilot light would not stay on was a bad pilot light temperature sensor, and researching an appropriate replacement for this AO Smith hot water heater (an OEM pilot light kit), I ordered it and received it in two days, and installed it, fixing the problem. In doing so I saved a considerable amount of money by not having to hire a plumber to either replace the pilot light sensor or worse having to replace the water heater. With many how to videos available online anyone with some basic mechanical skills can replace the pilot light assembly.Note of caution: do not try to replace the pilot light temperature sensor thermocouple itself with a generic part.

Great Plumber Saver, but the Seller must specify compatible models
I purchased this unit as the thermocouple died on my 13-year old water heater (A.O. Smith GCV 40 100). After replacing, the heater now works fine. This unit should have saved me a few hundred dollars should I hired a contractor. The product is 5-star, but its description lacks clarity. It says "works on the following water heater", but there is no description of compatibility. I had to go through Q&A's and somebody commented that this worked with my water heater, which fortunately turned out to be correct. The seller should specify / guarantee compatibility, rather than burden on buyers.

Repaired wire disconnect at transistor
After removing the original burner assembly I noticed that there was a break at the small transistor connection. After soldering the transistor at the break, the original burner worked again. After finding this out I ordered this new assembly and it arrived the next day. Perfect fit for my AO Smith tank.

Try this first!!!
Awesome! The Plummer that the choice home warranty sent out told be and the warranty company that my hot water heater needed to be replaced. Which the warranty company denied because the did not comer normal ware and tear After a few days without heat I ordered this on line and Walla!! My problem solved! Even though I wasted money on a worthless home warranty and a service call I’m a happy with the vendors product that saved me. Thanks

Cheaper than a new water heater…but,…
Very happy to find this, worked perfectly in my Kenmore Power Miser 6 water heater. Sadly unlike a regular thermal coupler it cost way more than expected
