TYR Special Ops 2.0 Swim Goggles with Transition, Anti-Fog Lenses, For Men and Women

Great "sunglasses version" of swim goggles
I've been spending a lot of time at the local outdoor pool. I'm too cheap to be buying prescription sunglasses, so I usually wear cheapos over my contact lenses. Getting water, especially chlorinated water, in your eyes is none too pleasant. So I set out looking for a pair of swim goggles that would serve as both goggles to protect my contacts from the water, and sunglasses to protect from the bring sun. I found both in the TYR 3.0 Polarized.I spent roughly 6 hours over 2 days this past weekend wearing them and they're pretty comfortable. They're alright at resisting fogging, but not perfect. I suspect, given the physics of how fog forms, nothing is perfect in that regard. They'll stay on, and tight, pretty well with just swimming. However, they're not good at all staying on if I'm jumping into the water from a diving board or splashing down from a slide. Had them on as tight as I could stand them, and they'd still come off. But they are a pretty high profile goggle, and that is quite a bit of shearing force. All around, a great goggle, and I really like them.

Durable goggles and good seal
I've been through I don't know how many different goggles. Nothing ever seemed to seal correctly and having water leak while doing laps is a pain. I think this is a bit of a personal thing as everyone has a different bone structure. In my case I have deeper eye sockets and everything else just didn't seal properly. These goggles were great once I got them adjusted. Seems like I have to pull the strap up higher towards the crown of my head and then nice and secure. In terms of quality, my last pair lasted for years (I'm on my third pair now). After a couple years I just started getting serious fogging., but I'm thinking I might have contributed to this in the way I cleaned the lens. Used a coarse towel from the gym to wipe them down which may have removed the antifog coating. I'll probably keep a microfiber cloth with them for future cleaning.

SUPER CHEAP! DO NOT BUY
These goggles are extremely cheaply made. Within just two months the reflective coating on the lenses was already falling off. The coating hasn't fallen off from abrasion--these goggles have either been on my head on in a nice case--the coating literally falls off while you are swimming. This makes the lens appear foggy and dark, obscuring your vision. Extremely disappointed with such a cheap product after paying a premium price for Tyr's top-of-the-line outdoor goggle. I do not recommend this product.Additionally, the adjustable straps don't stay tight and easily slip out of the cheaply made adjustment slots. Finally, the nose piece is a funny shape and rubs on your nose bridge--something I've never had in any other pair of goggles. It fit too close against your face.Bad all around. Bummed they were such a bad purchase :(

Straps Too Easily Loosened & Small Nose Bridge.
The straps don't stay in position when you put them on or take them off. They loosen immediately. They're not very stretchy, either. Also, the nose bridge is very shallow and it digs into my flesh. The seals around the eyes and the clarity are amazing, though.

Love these goggles
So we bought two pairs of these. 1 for my wife and 1 for myself. We are into triathlons and wanted something for open water swims. The good part is that we love the goggles. They are very comfortable and do no leak at all. They don't distort your vision and the field of view is huge. The bad part is that one pair came with a defective strap that broke straight out of the box. We like them so much that we'll just exchange those for another pair. I will never go back to a cheaper pair of goggles again. We also have a pair of the polarized version to compare to. The transition lenses do not get as dark as the polarized but they are great for indoor and outdoor swimming. The lenses change tinting in approximately 1 minute under direct sunlight. The polarized pair isn't too dark to use indoors but if you prefer a true all around goggle then spend the money on these. You'll be happy with them.

Great fit, nice look, transition designation is completely a fantasy
I will echo what others have said here. When I received these I immediately took them out into the sun to check out the transition and... I then came back and googled to see if perhaps I had received a pair of counterfeit goggles. Then I saw others commenting on how the transition is barely perceptible. My sports glasses have transition lenses and I'm pretty happy with those. So I took some electrical tape and blocked off a portion of the lens on both my new TYR goggles and my glasses. The TYR googles I then exposed to direct sunlight for 30 seconds (more than adequate for decent transitions to change). When I removed the tape I could *just* make out that there was a slight pink coloration throughout the exposed portion while the covered portion remained clear. The change is so slight I cannot even see it in the pictures I took and I know it was there.Contrast this with my normal glasses, after 20 seconds in the same light they had already darkened noticeably. When the tape is removed it's pretty clear that the transitions are doing their job. These are replacement TYR goggles for another pair that I've had for a couple of years and really love. The only reason I'm replacing the old ones is that the nose bridge is about to tear completely through. The lenses, gaskets and strap are all still in great shape. And overall these googles have lasted twice as long as any others I've had.I'll keep these, the color is nice and the fit is excellent. I just think TYR is doing themselves a disservice by claiming to have transition lenses when these just *barely* meet the minimum of what might be called such. I'm dinging them a star for that disappointment. I swim in an outdoor pool and sometimes swim at night but mostly during the day. Having actual transitions would have been sweet.

Best ever!
I've tried several other swim goggles and tested them with 1000's of yds. These are by far the best swim goggles I've ever used and now only purchase these. They fit great and don't leak. TYR also must use magic on them since they never fog.

Bravi!
