Batteries not included
These are great littlw walkie talkies! I got them for my sons 3rd birthday. So far the kids really like the flashlight function too which is handy to have. It is easy enough to operate though i feel you have to push the button a little harder and holding longer may be a tad of a learning curve for really young kiddos. You will need 8 batteries which I wasn't expecting and had to buy in addition through Amazon. I think this is a great starter for kids amd they will have fun and enjoy them plus come in handy if going on trips. Will update later on battery life.

3 yo loved it!
This was a gift for a 3 year old. He (and his father) started playing with it immediately. (Luckily, I had added the batteries before wrapping). The boy loved it and quickly learned how to operate it! There are 4 batteries require for EACH handset.

JUST DIDN'T WORK
I'm not sure if we did things wrong but we put the batteries in them turned it on and they made a sound for a second then it sounded like the power died and they wouldn't turn back on. We tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in a few times and it didn't work. The instructions weren't helpful either. Even if they did turn on I don't think we could've figured them out they have too many buttons and it's confusing. Too complicated for a three year old to use that's for sure.

Battery no longer fits.
They are good little walkies for kids. My 6-year-old bought these for his brother so they can talk (of course). Well after a day or two of use the battery part that holds the batteries no longer hold the batteries in... You can hear the battery rattling around, when I open the back to see what was going on the battery just fell out. Not sure how to explain it.When they were working they were great. Not sure who is more upset, the 6-year old that saved and spent his money on them, his brother, that got a birthday gift that is now a paperweight after two days of use, or myself.edit: Bf looked and said there is a loose connection between the battery and the slide?

Surprisingly good!
My 6-yr-old grandson takes one with him to play with kids on the block, and my son "checks in" with him from home (so it has good range) and makes him feel so important. They use trucker lingo like "Hey Buddy, what's your 20?" and "10-4" and "Over and Out" etc, which is so fun.It does eat up a few batteries, but it seems to be well made, and turned out to be the best Christmas gift I bought!
