RaceWax Complete Ski Snowboard Wax Tuning Kit

Excellent starter kit. Before I decided to go with a kit I was considering buying separate pieces. I finally decided this would be a better value for the money and I have not been disappointed. I've probably done about 4 tunes/waxes since I got this kit. I had zero experience with any of the items in the kit before I got it, but consider myself fairly diy minded. There is a little learning curve to using the different tools here, but it hasn't been too bad and isn't anything you can't correct mistakes when you do (well, assuming you don't light your board on fire with p-tex or something). Main thing it is missing that you will want is a board cleaner. On to a few of the items in the kit.The bag is pretty nice I think. Holds everything neatly, and is just the right size. It is easy to get things out, use them, and put them back in there. Quality is good as well.P-tex candles have been the biggest learning curve for me. I have replaced those that came with the kit, not because they were bad, but because I used them all. I'm not sure that the replacements are any better than what the bag came with. Biggest thing I learned with these, keep them low over the board and over the metal scraping plate. That keeps them from burning too hot. Keeping the dripping to a minimum so there is less scraping if you can.The metal scraper... scrapes plastic. And catches dripping plastic. So far it is working well.The gummi stone cleans up the edges just fine. Seems like an eraser for rust.The file guide is easy to adjust for different angles. Drop in the directional file, tighten it up, set the angle, and long smooth pulls get the job done.I'm still trying to figure out how to minimize the wax usage. The iron can be adjusted, and no I didn't check the temperature to see how well it holds. But it seems to melt the wax just fine. I try to find the lowest temperature that gets the wax dripping and keep in there. The iron glides smoothly and seems well made. This wax works in the snow, I haven't found another favorite yet. If you are like me, don't expect to get 15 waxes out of that first bar. I got 4 waxes out of it, but I also have a pretty big snowboard. And probably use too much wax. Which means I've gotten a lot of practice with...The big scraper scrapes wax. Haven't used the little one yet. It isn't anything special, but is functional and doesn't flex, so I'm happy using it.The brushes all seem good doing their job. Giving texture to the board base or the wax. Just find some instructions so you use the right brush for the job. They are all a nice heavy wood with good bristles on the bottom. I haven't noticed any bristles coming out yet, and the quality seems good for them.The rest of the stuff I haven't really used, but it seems to be equivalent good quality. I'm glad to be using a decent kit that has everything handy. And I think my board is enjoying the love as well.

We bought this at the end of last season, so haven't yet skied on the tuned up skis. But, I can say, I sharpened and base waxed two pair of x-c skiis with ease. Works great. Looking forward to some snow any time now!

I like the things that come with the package. You have three brushes, wax iron, wax, wax scrapers for what you need for waxing your board. The edge tuning tool is also the good one that you can actually use to tune the board unlike other brands. I like to give it 5 starts because I really like the quality. However, the brass brush broke when I used it for the first time to clean the file. It is not an important tool though.

This is a pretty good beginner set. I use it frequently. Would prefer better whetstones and varied grit strength. The iron on occasion stopped working, but has since been ok. I’ve been looking at more expensive replacement options already.

This is such a good starter kit for anyone who doesn't want to spend a ton of money buying individual pieces. All the items look good quality, has everything you need to tune up your board yourself, and it comes in a convenient carrying bag. I have a ski trip planned that would have put me very close to the original estimated delivery date so I contacted the company expressing my concerns, they were very responsive and shipped out the item very fast! Overall, I couldn't be happier and I definitely recommend this to everyone.

Comes with a small amount of wax (you will have to purchase more right away) and does not come with base cleaner so you will have to buy that separate. For $150 I would have expected to receive everything I needed right from the start.

As a former racer as a kid who knew how to tune, I was getting tired of spending $50-80 every time I needed a tune I bought this kit. Just some refresher youtubbe videos and I was off and running. Quality kit has everything you need. I gave it 4 stars because I think purchased separately you'd save some money but if you don't know what to get I strongly recommend this kit. I also recommend getting some vices along with it.

A good kit. Subsequently needed to buy more edge sharpening diamond tools from race wax to do a proper edge sharpening job. And certainly needed more wax than supplied in short order. Otherwise good quality and well supported product.
