Rebuild Repair Kit Replacement for Zodiac Polaris Automatic Pool Cleaner 180 280

My Polaris now works perfect. Took less than a half hour to replace all the parts.

The kit was easy to install. My Polaris is running great again! Seemed a bit pricy, but once I see how well the Polaris performs with the rebuild, it is actually a great deal.

Good thing rebuilding the unit is easy, instructions are poor, unit works like new, most parts are of good quality and fit. I've been using about 2 months, tuning is a bit tricky but no worse than the original. Only real complaint is the skimmer net, all the Velcro went bad in 6 weeks, would not stay on hose clip and emptied it self in the pool while running, all the Velcro just quit gripping so we had to buy a replacement, found one with a zipper. I would buy again.

My Polaris stopped circulating. Tried minor maintenance but still didn’t work. Saw this kit on line and it is way cheaper than a new unit, so I gave it a try. Works perfectly now!

First, the turbine wheel wobbles. It has a serious run-out that is due to the casting of the turbine being worn, and when fit on the shaft, it is out of round. It will work, but it's not correct.Second - the tires provided are SO thin, that the driving side wheel does not touch the tire in back. Yes, I put on new drive pinion and spring, but the tires are much thinner than spec so the take up of the spring drive pinion is all the way closed, and still - the tires don't touch the drive wheel.My solution: I took the old tires, and cut the outer lip flange off, then used the inner band as an 'inner tube' inside the new tire and over the plastic wheel. It makes the tires bigger and finally the drive gear engages the rear tire. Sadly, to keep the unit driving right, I had to do all three so they are similar radius.

Take your time and you will figure it out

My Polaris had bad bearings in all the wheels and just wouldn’t move anymore. This replaced all the wheels, drive gear and bearings and my Polaris works like a new one now.
