DIYHD 4FT Stand Up Black Rolling Library Hardware,Telescope Sliding Ladder Track Kit(No Ladder)

This worked wonderfully for my build. I was under the impression from Q&A for their kits that the bottom roller wheels weren't included, but this particular kit did include those wheels which made it an even better value for the money. Heavy-duty and sturdy pieces that were easy to assemble on a homemade ladder. The ladder has only been in use for about two weeks at the time of writing, so I'll update this review if the kit proves to be any less sturdy than it seems at this time. I'd definitely recommend this kit.

If you have the time to return one with very crooked mounts or tools to grind/cut and reweld one it's fine. 2 of the 4 I purchased were not straight enough to use. Also the O-rings for the extensions are too big on some causing more problems. All that said it is sturdy and cheap so if you can fix (or wait for them to fix) the bad parts it's worth it. If you need it right the first time out of the box it's a gamble and I'd buy something else.

Love the hardware, the screws are worthless. I used oak sides and rockler steps. (Saved enough on the rolling hardware I decided to splurge on the steps). Be careful planning the alignment of the top rail as the wheels only clear the mounts at the operational angle. I read how bad the screws were bug figured I could be careful. They're horrible. I predrilled, new bit, gently installed, and the heads still stripped. I complained and was sent smaller screws. I ended up replacing them with others from Amazon. Pain in the neck because I had to use an easy out on 3. The wheels and rail are fairly straightforward to install. I built my ladder, then put it up to figure out where to screw the top in. The hardware seems fairly well made. I did have trouble putting the caps on the rails and between the rails, the o-rings wanted to tear themselves up the fit was so tight. That was annoying and I replaced one, but I ended up deciding they weren't that important and didn't worry if the others tore. Would have preferred that the bottom locks, but the ladder rolls smoothly and I'm really happy with it. I liked the look and feel of the metal parts to this kit. However; the quality of the hardware to install it was awful... I was missing parts from the extension set and spent hours at the hardware store finding the right screws and bolts to make it work. The screws that did make it were terrible and all stripped out. Amazon has a link to the original seller and there's no actual way to contact them. The link takes you in circles to send a message that never sends.

Overall the hardware is good quality except for the supplied screws. HOWEVER, the finished product is very unsafe to use, as the ladder will roll out from under you and throw you to the floor. The seller 'BD Hardware' is aware of this situation as they updated the wheels with CAM BRAKES in Aug.(2022?) "Noted: We updated this item with brake at the end of Aug, for the order before 31st Aug, will ship old floor roller without brake, for the order from 1st Sep, we will ship rollers with brake. " My order was in Feb 2023 and should have had the update. With several interactions with Amazon and no means to contact BD Hardware, I would recommend not buying anything from Amazon, as they won't put you in touch with their affiliates, and seem to have no means to reach them on your behalf.
