Everything was perfect, good product, good delivery, what else to ask for ?
It is OK... It makes a pretty good coffee but it does not compare in quality of materials with my oldKRUPS Coffee-espresso maker, this one was built like a tank, during it's 17 years of life it made about 15.000 cups. This new Coffee-espresso is fortunately much quieter, it makes a good foam, (maybe a little too much) and requires slightly less coffee grind for the same cup, probably because of a more efficient and hotter water pump. The taste is very good and less bitter.

Gasket fails- no replacement available.
I bought my first xp3208 Krups in November of 2020. I purchased the extended warranty. It mostly worked until 5/2022… it would pump but leak from the gasket the filter basket attaches to the machine. Then it quit working completely, it wouldn’t pump (it wasn’t calcified either) So I started the extended warranty process- another joke. I had to send it back and have them inspect it then wait a couple weeks for a refund. Meanwhile I purchased another identical machine from Amazon. Upon my first operation of the machine, it sprayed everywhere from the gasket. (Mind you I use a Krups auto grinder on the expresso setting, with a moderate tamp, not too hard and not too light right up to the max fill line and I clean the rim with a paper towel- every time) I returned it to Amazon, they sent me a replacement. (5/31/2022). It worked great until 10/14/2022. As it was brewing I heard a pop and then it started spraying everywhere from the gasket. So, I removed the gasket and cleaned everything thoroughly and reassemble and tested it- twice. It still leaked. The silicon gasket appears to have formed an indentation from the filter basket that is just enough to keep from forming a complete seal. So I started searching for a new gasket. No luck. I called Krups, I was impressed at first because I knew I was talking to an American, which is rare with customer service representatives. First she told me that the replacement seal is unavailable. Then she told me Amazon sells out of date products. So I asked her what the current model was… she informed me it was the XP3208!!! 🤯 Then she informed me it was still under warranty. She told me I had to send them the serial numbers and receipts and physical address and then they would send me a shipping label to send it to their repair center. She sent me the email while I was on the phone with her and I responded immediately with the requested information. Then the line went quite- somehow I was dropped or she just hung up. With no response after 2 days, I sent a follow up email- still no response. Now it’s been over a week and I still haven’t heard back from Krups. I’m very disappointed, I went with a name brand for a reason. This is allegedly a German company instead of Chinese which also influenced my purchase. I don’t know why it’s so difficult to consistently make a decent cup of coffee at home without spending a week’s wages on a machine. That and I can’t comprehend how these giant corporations that manufacture millions of a particular products but they won’t sell the simple parts to repair them- while they have boxes and boxes of said parts. And furthermore, the price went from $119 to $150 in less than 6 months. I guess it’s time to find something different, or maybe I should start drinking tea instead!!!

Losing steam after 6 months
Pros: compact, fits well with a small kitchen and limited counter space, big water storage for less refills, pulls beautiful foamed espresso every timeCons: feels a little cheap, losing pressure in the steamer after only 6 months, taking much longer to steam than when it was first used, no back flush options, weird cup size and odd cleaning for the espresso cup, weird space between the top where the espresso lays and the bottom where the espresso is pulled out- makes me feel like no matter how well I clean it there is still filth between the two layers.Originally had a Krups and it worked for almost 10 years, off and on at first and then solidly for at least 3-4 years. After that died we’ve been through a new espresso machine on average every 4-6 months. Can’t catch a break no matter how little or how much we spend. We’ve had Krups, Rancilio, De’longhi, Mr. Coffee and this Krups machine. Just waiting for the machine that gives us another 10 plus years. It’s not this little guy but this one did the job consistently for 6 months.Update one week after writing review: Purchased this May 4. Today is November 20 and the steam wand will not come on. The espresso still pulls nicely but the steam won’t even turn on. When you’ve had a nice, long lasting machine, this is a little ridiculous. You can definitely see you get what you pay for, with some exceptions of course. This worked well for awhile but not long enough.
