Easy to have a "green thumb" with this kit!
I grew and harvested my first tray of wheat grass and it was very easy with this kit. I had a friend that tried growing wheat grass from some seeds she picked up at a local store and the difference in our grass was amazing. The grass my kit produced was tall, lush and dark green. Quite the opposite of her generic grass. The taste of the wheat grass when juiced was really sweet (odd tasting if you have never tasted it before). I am on my second tray now and am working to get the timing of growing and juicing sync'd so I don't have a gap between trays. The chart that comes with this kit is truly beneficial as a quick reference the first time you are growing grass. The nutritional benefits of wheat grass are amazing as you will learn with the book that is included. If you are looking for a way to get started - definitely try this kit. I was very proud of my first attempt at urban farming :)! The assurance of ordering through Amazon is an additional bonus due to great customer service and their easy return policy. No returns on this one! It's a keeper!!!

Great kit with everything you need
I decided to buy this kit, because I don't have a lot of gardening supplies on hand. This has absolutely everything that you need in one box, so there is no need to buy anything else. There is a very thorough direction sheet that details how to prepare the soil (minimal work), how to soak the seeds, and how to spread them over the soil. The hardest part is just keeping the seeds moist, and that was not difficult at all, thanks to their suggestion to use paper towels on top of the sprouting seeds. I posted a photo above that shows the "crop" after 8 days of growth. I cut it all off and put it in a zipper bag in the fridge, where it will keep for about 5 days. Of course, I had to try some in the juicer right away, and was surprised at how SWEET the juice was! There are enough bags of wheat seeds to make about 5 trays of grass, and there was plenty of soil and fertilizer to support that many trays. I highly recommend this for the person who wants to grow their own wheatgrass, and who wants everything in one neat package.

All inclusive kit with high quality seeds and soil. Expensive, but worth it if you are a beginner.
This is a great starter kit. Kit contains everything required to grow a great continuous batch of wheatgrass. Organic soil worked very well. I purchased this as I was in the beginning stages of learning to garden organically. Although I liked the kit, I do agree with other reviews regarding the price. It was a bit expensive compared to purchasing individual materials and creating your own kit. One thing to keep in mind is getting seeds from a source who grows organically with environmental conscientiousness.

Better than expected
This kit exceeded expectations! I planted first tray one week ago intending to stagger them to keep a steady supply of wheat grass. The first batch is thick, green and strong enough to start juicing after only 7 days! Was fun to see rapid changes every day as it grew. I started the second tray today as we don't yet know how long a tray will supply us with enough for juice every day.The guide I was expecting to be a printed pamphlet is a real book with useful information and I attribute the success of our first tray to following the easy instructions in this book. The book also has a lot of information beyond just growing wheat grass.Would not think twice about buying this kit again if I decide 5 trays won't be enough in the future.

Has everything you need!
Great kit right here! Organic everything and will absolutely yield you some delicious wheatgrass.Tips for growing:When soaking, remove any seeds still floating after 30 minutes. And only use filtered water.During the first 3 days, use an empty tray, flip it over, and loosley cover the tray with the seeds planted. Leave a little room for air to circulate freely. Keep that moisture in!Mold is almost unavoidable unless you use Grapeseed extract. NutriBiotic GSE Grapeseed extract is perfect. Mix 6-8 drops in a little spray bottle with filtered water and spray the top of the soil or problem areas. I find having a separate, tiny 1oz spray bottle works best for spot treatment and Grapeseed. Do this once during the initial phase and once again when they start to sprout on the 4th day.Do give the little guys some direct sunlight. Trust me, they love it. Move to indirect sun afterwards.Optional: Use some shilajit and add to filtered water and spray the grass once or twice after sprouting. All plants love shilajit and they grow like freaking crazy when you give it to them.If you have too much grass, put the entire tray (or portion of the crop) in the refrigerator. It'll last a few days and push the pause button.

wheat grass success
Just harvested a lush and amazingly fast growing crop. I decided to cut it leaving about 1 1/2" and let it regrow. A lady at Ocean Solutions said I could try that but didn't advise a third round. But it's coming back so far and looking very green and strong. I did have to do as instructions suggested and mix up a few cups of solution made with the provided Azomite in the first few days to cut a suspicious white film over the soil that I presume was mold. Didn't see how that could do anything but I sprinkled it over the surface and it was gone. I used half of the 2 cup bag for one tray instead of the whole bag as instructed and it really made for a dense crop in one tray. I don't see how the full two cups would have room to grow. My wife and I juiced half the crop this morning in our Champion to mix in our protein shakes. So 1/4 cup of wheat berries yielded about 4 oz. of juice. Of course, I let it grow to about 9 inches and the 2nd round may not yield as much. We'll see. Oh, I mentioned Ocean Solutions. They're a trace mineral fertilizer producer that processes sea water collected far out to sea and at depth. Check them out: [...]

Plastic Low Quality
I bought what I thought was the best they offered based on the specs. This product is JUNK. The motor/base assembly seems pretty strong, but the part where you put the wheat grass is CHEAP plastic and has broken into pieces in just three flats of wheat grass. Now looking for one with a metal auger system like you see at Jamba Juice .... So now I am back to Jamba for my daily needs of wheat grass.
