Our small apartment bathroom does not have a vent to the outside. Towels never dried very well and the air felt musty. Since installing this a month ago, the air feels drier and this reliably pulls about a cup of water out of the air every 24 hours (we take ~3 showers in this bathroom daily). Glad we bought this size; the size smaller would likely have been insufficient. The noise is a low hum and I do not find it unpleasant; it is like a white noise machine.Edited to add after 10 months: Ivation customer service is remarkable and we are incredibly impressed! When we restarted the unit after having it off for the winter, it did not appear to work any more. We wrote to Ivation customer support, and they instantly sent us another unit without question as we were still within the 1 year warranty period. When there were some mishaps with that unit (not their fault), they sent us ANOTHER unit right away, no questions asked. We are so impressed and would recommend them without reservation to anyone who needs to purchase a dehumidifier!

Ok for a small room. Collects moisture just fine. Air movement through the unit is just a trickle...much less than I thought it would be. In this room on a tropical island, it takes 4 days to fill up the tank. I guess it helps, honestly cant tell other than the proof of water collection from the air.

I use this with the AcuRite 00613 Indoor Humidity Monitor in my 22-foot travel trailer year-round whenever I have it stored between camping trips. I first started using it near the end of a very rainy and humid winter in the Pacific Northwest. Before plugging it in, the relative humidity was 72% at about 45 degrees F. After about 4 hours of it running, the RH was 51%. As the weather has gotten warmer, the RH has gone down and usually ranges between 30% and 55%. I empty it about once every 7 to 10 days. It works great and the trailer no longer smells musty. I couldn't be happier with its performance.

We live in North Florida and we have high humidity, so I was looking for a small Dehumidifier to put in our sun room. So far the Ivation GDM30 Powerful Mid-Size Thermo-Electric Dehumidifier is doing it's job and keeping the humidity level down. I would buy this product again.

The First unit I received started making loud noises then it stopped functioning before 30 days.The seller sent a replacement and it is functioning well. The unit is a little noisy but not bad.The replacement started making similar noises as the first unit 8 months later, This is not a well make product. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING.

It would be a great product for a small space with limited humidity. I live with a lot of humidity and need something stronger. But it is very quiet which is wonderful.

I love this thing! I had been having mildew problems on my boat for years. I ran the humidifier on my AC unit but to no avail and a big waste of electricity. But,this little thing dried out my blankets, drapes and even the cabin walls in just two days! Now,I just leave it on all the time. I wish I would have thought of this years ago. Now,all I have to do is empty the little bucket every 3 to 4 days and the bucket is always full of water! and if I forget,the unit just turns itself off. It's quiet, takes up very little space and I don't even know it's there. I am so pleased.

Works as expected. I put this in my small laundry closet to reduce the mildew smell from a prior flood. It works exceptionally well for the size. The drainage is the only odd thing about it. Imagine dollar store water gun that's how you drain it, I am not complaining just pointing it out. This things works for small small spaces would suggest a larger one if you are putting it anywhere other than a small bedroom or closet space.

Great for smaller square footage homes/spaces. Super quiet. A noisey unit would have been headache inducing; not this one though! Living in a west coast rain forest where...guess what it does most of the time...rains...this unit is perfect for the job required, plus light weight & easily maneuverable. Thank you Amazon!

The product has been used in the master bedroom with good results. It performs adequately. No problems other than the quiet noise operating level. For me it could be quieter but that is strictly subjective. I run it for approx. 14 hrs a day, and it fills up every 3-4 days. Easy to empty. Humidity levels are at approximately 53%. Normally we should be humidifying, but in our case, we need the opposite. I turn it off at bedtime. The reason for purchase was due to condensation on our large bedroom window, which had been resolved using this product for the most part.

It's a bit loud for my space, but I'm in a tiny house, so it's to be expected. In a larger space, you wouldn't even notice. It's pretty amazing how much water it takes out of the air, and that's with a smaller one in the other end of the house. Condensation in small spaces is such an issue, but this is a good unit. I'm glad I got it.

I bought this product for a 10'X10' bedroom to reduce the humidity on hot humid days. As a test I ran the unit for 48 hours when the humidity level was 68%. After 48 hours the room did not drop in humidity and there was only a 1/2 cup of water in the container. The product looks good and is fairly quiet but did not serve my purpose in the job I needed it for so it was returned.

I purchased this dehumidifier to use in our ensuite bathroom, within a home that is too humid in the winter. The dehumidifier does reduce humidity levels by several percentages (using a digital hygrometer), producinga couple of tablespoons of condensate per day. It is unlikely to obtain significant dehumidification and 20 oz. of water from this small unit.
