Elton John - Dream Ticket

I bought this together with the "Red Piano" BluRay and submitted a 5-star review there, as well. Anyone who likes Elton John should most definitely own both. Bought this to view on my big screen "home theater" set-up. Love it. Elton shows us why he's such an enduring star and entertainer. The musical performance is outstanding, as is the surround sound. Video quality is very good, too, even on a large projection screen. "Dream Ticket" BluRay/DVD and "Red Piano" are the two I bought and I love them both. A very wide variety of performance styles ALL worth watching. Get them both and you'll have a complete Elton John concert "library" with a great bonus of an excellent music CD included with this one.

I already had the 1st DVD - The Greatest Hits Concert at Madison Square Garden, but no problem having two.What I just couldn't believe was when I watched the "Ephesus Concert" recorded in Turkey.It's one of most emotional concert in a perfect place with a perfect crow and a perfect mood, lightning, effects... perfect!The Concert at the Royal Opera House is just amazing with the students Elton helped studying music, playing with him.And the 4th DVD "Elton in Four Decades" is a brilliant travel through the world of one of the most important, inffluential superstars of our times.Everyone who loves music should have this 4 Box-Set.It's just necessary to watch and hear to all this wonderful music to understand why Elton John is so loved.A PERFECT RELEASE!

Without a doubt, the best concert dvd I ever had. The sound quality is incredible.I wondered what the concert at Madison Square Garden would sound like, having been at one of his concerts back in the day. I was seated very high up, and the sound was terrible. But, on this dvd, the MSG concert is the best one!Just great, and Elton's voice is amazing here.

although this is a 4 dvd set, there is only one that i keep reaching for when i need an elton john fix. it is the dvd filmed in greece with him and his piano in an ancient amphitheatre and an audience. you get most of his classics and a lot of him playing the piano as a master pianist that he is. i love just getting lost in the music without all the back up performers and band. this is a stripped down production and very intimate show. brilliant is all i can say to this amazing artist and performer.

This is truly a great collection of shows presented in a single package for a very reasonable price. It is somewhat rare to find a collection like this in one package of any artist, least from an artist of the caliber and showmanship of Elton. I encourage those who like myself are true followers and collectors of Elton John to purchase this. It is likely that this is a limited type of offer that will not be available in great quantities or indefinately.

I purchased this when it originally came out. My best friend loves Elton as well, and I wanted her to have the same awesome collection of Elton’s best work all over. She loved it too!

Being an Elton John's fan, and a live concert lover, I consider this pack my favorite among all 100 concerts videos I have. Perfect performance fabulous in sound quality and the best ever recorded documentary of Elton

Für alle Elton Fans ein Muss! Diese DVD Box gibt Eltons derzeitigen Bühnenshows wieder: Mit Band, mit großem Orchester und seine geniale Solo-Tour.DVD 1 Madison Square Garden kennt man bereits, wurde als "One Night Only" veröffentlicht (ca. 2,5 Std).Aber viel genialer istDVD 2 mit dem Orchester der Royal Academy (ca. 1 Std.). Von der BBC bereits letztes Jahr ausgestrahlt und in Deutschland nie gezeigt, bietet Elton ein super Konzert im festlichen Rahmen im Royal Opera House. Seine Songs (nicht nur die Bekannten) mit dem großen Orchester zu sehen und zu HÖREN bringen absolute Gänsehaut. Bild ist hier im echten 16:9!DVD 3 bietet Elton's Solo Show (ca. 2 Std., wobei die Original Show fast 3 Std. lang war...) Open Air im alten Amphit-Theater in Ephesus. Dies ist ein sehr persönliches Konzert und für mich die beste der 4 DVDs, insbesondere, da ich sooo lange auf die Veröffentlichung seines Solo-Konzerts gewartet habe. Wer da denkt, ein Mann und ein Piano würden in 2 Std. lange Weile verbreiten, der irrt gewaltig und KENNT Elton John nicht!DVD 4 bietet Interviews und Original Videos zu seinen Songs aus den verschiedenen Dekaden. Leider sind diese fast alle schon mal auf anderen DVDs erschienen (Love Songs, Best Of), aber Elton erzählt seinen Bezug zu den Songs, was schon wieder interessant ist. Und das lang verschollenen original Video von "Empty Garden", welches es zuvor nur auf VHS gab, ist nun endlich auf DVD erhältlich.Bild ist bei allen DVDs in Ordnung.1 Stern Abzug gibt es allerdings für den 5.1 Sound!Wenn auf DVD 2 das Orchester von hinten wesentlich lauter spielt, ist das sehr irritierend, wobei der Sound an sich genial ist.Wenn auf DVD 3 (Solo) Eltons Stimme von hinten links anstatt von vorne kommt, ist das eindeutig ein Fehler in der Herstellung!Also, die DVDs lieber in PCM-Stereo gucken, da ist der Sound zwar etwas weiniger fein, aber er stimmt wenigstens.Trotzdem, einer meiner besten Käufe!!!
