3M 3M-18730 Roloc Bristle Disc Grade - 50, Size - 2 - 2 Pack

I ordered these last week to see how they would do on wood.... let me tell you they are amazing!!! I used them to remove the finish from the grooves on these cabinet doors and drawers so I could stain them. Saved me from Having to do a ton of hand sanding!!!

I use these all the time for removing gasket material. If you are negligent, they will still wear away aluminum and cast iron, but you have to be a bit of an idiot and keep the tool grinding away at the same place for a long time. As long as you don't do that, they won't hurt the metal surface that you are cleaning up

These worked great removing the old intake gasket that was stuck on the heads and intake manifold. Also take off paint very easily too. I am looking for more things to use this on because it works so good. They look cheap, like they would not last, but after about an hour of use, i am only missing 1/4 of one bristle on the outside. So I expect they will be around a long time.

ive used these for years, for aluminum clean up , cylinder heads, thermostat housings , water pump , intake gaskets . i seen other reviews that said didnt work well on heads and this is not true , i use with air I guess if your using elec drill it might not spin fast enough .this is probally only product you can use safley on aluminum cylinder heads without damaging surface . one disk will last for several years even in a busy shop

These are great for cleaning things that gum up or clog scotchbrite pads. Things like grease or gasket surfaces. They don't really remove a noticeable amount of metal which is good but they are good for paint, gasket sealer, grease ect and they don't load up. You'll need the pad with a 1/4 shank to actually connect these to your die grinder. Same one that normal roloc disks use.

These do work for stripping paint but the 3M brillo style pads cut through rust better. However on my 1960 MGA frame off restoration to get to hard to reach areas or creases in the fender they work excellent. They wear for quite a while surprisingly..I used one per 5 foot long inside fender cleaning off rust and undercoating....

I thought this would be the solution to sanding some wood trim, but it really can't pull the finish off effectively. Its alright at sanding rounded edges, but its a lot more work than using semi-paste stripper and a wire brush which was my eventual solution. I am sure there is some use for these that they are perfect for though. It just was not the case for me in what I was doing.

I have a coating of rust on some steel automotive wheels I am refinishing, and these green Roloc discs breeze right through the rust and smooth out the surface. And despite all the cleaning I did on one wheel, the disc looks like it was hardly used. Once I finish up these wheels with the yellow Roloc bristle disc, they will be ready for cleaning and painting. Very handy tool to own!
