Good board that fits a SOT-223 on the backside
This particular break-out board is the best one for the ESP8266, in my opinion. It's easily confused for another one floating around that is slightly different. This one is good because on the reverse side is a SOT-223 pad for a regulator. There is a board that looks identical to this floating around that has a SOT-89 pad. Mine, at least, came with a SOT-223 that perfectly fits a AMS1117 regulator.

Super handy and useful when using esp-12s.
This breakout boards.I have several of this. although I burned one of my ESP12's. The other are good. I have an ESP-07 and two ESP-12FIt is very useful and comes handy when programming IoT projects.

Only 1 board!
Did not receive 2 pcs as described!All I got was 1 static bag with 1 board & set of headers. No box & 2 static bags as pictured (not that I care about a box, but when you describe it as 2 pcs you expect to get 2).

Worthless as a dev board. Very low component count.No regulator supplied No decoupling cap
3rd Update... If you get the same board that I got the regulator AMS1117 will work correctly foot print is SOT223. However the short installed in R2, must be removed. If you don't remove R2 then you can provide regulated power via the VIN pin. The short is placed across pins 2 and 3 of the regulator effectively bypassing the regulator and it is not required with the short in R2. A little documentation would have gone a long way to making this a good sale. But no docs and bad info means bad product. Hope this info helps somebody else out.This board is nicely finished. The board has 2 resistors and a short solder to it. There are no caps decoupling the power supply pins as recommended by the datasheet. Nice finish.... now the gottcha! The board is to wide to use on a MB102 bread board!!! This makes it just about useless for development. The board spans all of the sockets of the bread board leaving nowhere to attach jumpers to the pins. For the cost of this product I recommend you purchase one of the Nodemcu development boards. I ordered this product because I wanted to make a bed of nails programmer which I completed only to find that I couldn't connect any of the pins to anything without mounting the development board to a parallel breadboard. There is a SOT 89-3 (update 3 SOT 223) pad on the reverse side that you will need to purchase a regulator to solder in place. The seller said you had to solder the regulator in place by yourself. That didn't translate to you have to furnish the part too. The package had loose components included so I assumed it would be included. Assume shame on me... Update they had 2 stars but the regulators I ordered based on the sellers recommendation came in. The question was asked by another customer which regulator was required. The reply was " Dear friend, the recommended regulator is HT7533-1 SOT-89. Hope our answer can help you. " I purchased regulators based on that information, but the board I got has a much larger mount pad for the regulator, an SOT 89 wont fit on it. SOT89 is way to small. So now I am stuck with 10 regulators that I cant use. My recommendation is not to purchase from this vendor. period. If I could leave 0 stars I would.
