I have a 13 year old Maltipoo that is about 8 pounds. We currently are living in Germany and they have a lot of fests here. I mean a lot! And sometimes we like to take the dogs and not always leave them at home. There are always a lot of people attending these fest and she gets very scared walking in them so I have to carry her. I did a ton of research and looked at all different kinds of carriers and read both the good and bad reviews.Well I chose this one first because it is a front carrier and I can keep an eye on her. The second was due to the hard bottom and that she can sit in it instead of having her legs sticking out which I thought would be uncomfortable. The hard bottom is plastic and does bend a little so it is not heavy but holds up.I am so happy that I chose this one!!! When I first got it I placed a little blanket on the bottom so she would be more comfortable and put her in and she fit perfectly. We tested it out at a Christmas Market and she was so comfortable she laid down and had her head sticking out. She was so comfortable in it that when we went to a restaurant she stayed in it and slept. I also placed our West Highland Terrier, 17 pounds, and she fit in it as well. Although I did put my arm around her for extra support.The shoulder straps never hurt me and I was pretty comfortable carrying her for a few hours. The best part was that my hands were free to look at things and also drink Gluhwein.There was one review that said the straps started to come apart but I never had that problem even with the Westie being carried around.Also on the front is a zippered pouch which I placed a small wallet in and didn't need to carry a purse.Overall this carrier was perfect for our needs and we will use quite frequently.

Could use a few more pockets for stuff because you can't wear two backpacks and the dog is in the backpack so need more compartment to take your own stuff. Outside pockets, zipper flaps, etc. would be great. My dog, 15 # pom mix, loves this carrier but likes it better when I wear it on the front where I can hold the bottom and cuddle him. He loves this though a little harder to keep on if you wear it in the front. This is designed to be worn on your back. Still, it's a great carrier, durable, and my dog feels comfortable in it. Good strong bottom to it as well. Velvety inside. Pleased overall. When the dogs are happy, I'm happy!

Bought this for a Jack Russell. Papillon, and Beagle mix. He’s 6lb and roughly 18” from back of head to base of tail. He was able to sit comfortably and would have room to curl up if he wanted to lay down. Laying down curled up would be a little tight but doable. He is very reactive ( which we are working on). I liked that this allowed me to have both hands free so I could offer treats and loves as we walked around among a group of people and other pets. Glad too for the inside clip as he tried to jump out when approached from behind by a larger dog when I was distracted. Putting on was a little different but with use will be easier.Overall a very nice carrier for small dog.

Is there a way to keep the straps from slipping once I've adjusted them?It's difficult for the wearer to pull the shoulder straps to adjust , another person must do it because of the direction of the pull. It would be better if the other side of the strap had the adjustment.It's a little small for my elderly long legged schnoodle who weighs about 15lbs. He just manages to sit. But he likes that he's snuggled up against me when his heart and legs get too tired to walk anymore.He and I prefer this type of front pack as his arthritic legs would not like going through holes. He's s a bit wriggly getting him in and out of this, but we've only used it a few times. We need a bit more practice

I like this carrier it is made well and my 12 pound Boston terrier fit in well. However, the straps are not long enough to accommodate a size 16 female. They will snap but it is very tight. This also makes the carrier sit very high on my chest, not down low like the photo shows. I had to return mine because it would be too uncomfortable for me to wear. I think if you are slender it would be fine. It should also be noted this fits very much like a backpack on your front. It will get very hot so it is best for use in cooler climates.

I bought this because I walk my cats outdoors. One of them needs help in the colder weather, so I carry him. I had to load it with a blanket and warming disc, then over 14 lbs of cat, too. I needed something that was big enough to fit cat and accessories without hurting my back. This design is pretty decent at both. My smaller 9 lb cat fits just fine. My bigger one doesn't quite fit--I can get only half of him inside. . And putting the harness on over my head is a little bit of a struggle when I'm wearing a thicker coat. But, it does OK. We've been using it for a couple of weeks, and so far, no breakage.

This arrived today for use with my cat... so far, so good. My cat is 11 pounds and about 14 inches neck to rump... he fits very well. We only did a test run in my back yard so far, but it feels comfortable on. I do have to cinch the top to keep him in... would prefer if the cinching cord wasn't elastic though. I might replace it with regular cording, but it DOES work as is. The harnesses clip is a big plus and was a necessary feature when I was researching carriers. It appears this will work just fine for what I want, however, I really can't imagine an animal twice my cat's size fitting comfortably. The price was right and it seems well made.
