Good Price for High Quality
Recently developed complications to my peripheral nervous system which caused some severe orthostatic hypotension. I was looking through the negative reviews for these but took a chance on them anyway. First, Jobst is one of the brands that my doctor recommended to me when I asked for his recommendation before I got more pairs. Second, these are the most comfortable, well-fitting stockings I've ever worn. My normal attire involves a lot of thigh-high stockings as it is so it was nice to find something fashionable AND medical. The measurement ratios of these stockings are perfect for the way my legs are shaped and they stay up well. They're very long - I'm 5'7" and very leggy. Putting them on with a tight closely guided hand has them cover my ENTIRE leg up to my butt (not as comfy though). I usually have problems finding thigh-highs that are long enough. I was skeptical on the dot band as I'm used to the sticky silicone situation, but I was pleased to find that they stay up and in place better than my normal stockings. The dots DO NOT CAUSE "BLISTERS" (unless you have an allergy maybe) but will leave small temporary impressions in your skin if you wear them long enough as intended. I've been LIVING in these stockings, even sleeping in them. I'd replace my whole drawer of stockings with these if they weren't so pricey, but they're worth every penny for medical relief. Can't recommend them enough.

Best so far
The silicone dots on top band, keep the thigh high stockings perfectly in place while at the same time being comfortable at the top band. I think this is because the band with the dots does not have to fit as tightly on the top to stay up as the knee high band without the dots. What I do know for certain is that the Jobst Comfort Knee Highs while a lot easier to get on, are not as comfortable at the top band as the Jobst Relief Thigh Highs. Also, for a very swollen left ankle and a fairly swollen calf on my left leg, the thigh high is vastly superior than the knee high in terms of slimming my ankle while it is worn. But the compression hose is not being worn for just a cosmetic reason. I have varicose veins and venous insufficiency in both legs with quite a lot of swelling in my left leg. I was told told by the vascular surgeon to wear 20-30mmHg compression hose. I had a venous ablation last week on one leg and plan to have the same procedure in a month or two on the other leg. So not wearing compression hose was not an option.Interestingly, I like the texture of the Jobst Black Relief Thigh Highs much better than the Jobst Beige Relief Thigh Highs which feel thicker and more matte looking. I plan to try the Jobst Ultrasheer Natural. The Ultrasheer is a lot more expensive than the Relief, but the very opaque beige looks very little old lady, and even though I am 76, it is a look I would like to avoid. On a light completed blonde, the beige does not look like a skin color or a fashion statement, it looks orthopedic. I wear a lot of black and the Jobst Black Relief can often work out well.So to answer your question more briefly, I do recommend the Black Jobst Relief with the silicone dots.

Jobst are the best, but
As Psoriatic Arthritus has increased my sensitivity to pressure around my ankles, I tried the same compression in a larger size of thigh highs. Great around the ankles, but much too loose on my thighs.

Great quality & happy w/ purchase
Bought the black 20-30 thigh-highs innLarge because they were on sale ($20 cheaper!) & the beige weren’t.The black are fairly opaque but get a biy more transparent, the further up my size they go.It might be because they were brand new ones replacing some will use six months old, but they have really nice compression fit really well. (I’m a 5’6” 170# woman).

Not Jobst Quality
So I have been purchasing these for years. Something has happened. The quality is no longer what it used to be. These are thin and shiny more like panty hose. My toe ripped through the end within several months of use. I will not buy again!
