Easy to use and produces exceptional results.
The addition of a pellet grill to my outdoor kitchen was exactly what was needed. It replaced an old and rusty side smoker and there is no real comparison. The STX set up easily and after burn-in, my first cook was easy and resulted in an absolutely delicious steak that only had salt and pepper for seasoning. I opted for the Sear Box and it really makes it so easy to do searing and we look forward to many more steak nights. The "test cook" was a frozen pizza but being so anxious to eat the steak, I cooked the pizza second and the crust was perfectly cooked. Next will be chicken and then a brisket but the temp control makes the whole process so simple you will wonder why you waited so long to buy any of the Camp Chef pellet smokers. These are well made and well thought out products and the enhancement from the imparted smoke flavor creates exceptional food.

Great smoker for the price.
I really like this smoker. Everything came in fine with no damage. It was also pretty easy to put together with good instructions. The only thing I did/added was some Lava Rock gasket to seal the lid a little better. As for smoking, I've done ribs and brisket. They all came our great, though they cooked a little faster than I expected on the High Smoke setting. I did some bacon and burgers as well, but had to turn on high setting to get a nice a finish, which uses a lot of pellets. The thermometer probe is nice but I prefer my wireless one which I can use with the temperature probe port on the side. I was trying to decide between an electric smoker and a pellet smoker. I'm glad I went for this one.

Works great!
Got the pellet grill from camp chef after doing a lot of research. From traeger to pit boss and others. All see very similar but what sold me was the easy clean out option to dump the ash after cooking. With other pellet grills you pretty much have to take them apart after every other use.I was originally concerned the legs would feel cheap or not durable, however, they actually look a lot better and are very durable. I like the built in thermometer probe (traeger grills don’t have). It doesn’t have WiFi but I don’t need it. Smoked chicken, cooked burgers and both came out great. Can’t go wrong with this choice. I will update as needed.

The top of the lid did not match up close enough to get a good seal. Now other than
When the smoker arived the handle was broken for the ash clean out. After using the smoker I find that it leaks a lot of heat and smoke. The top of the lid did not match up close enough to get a good seal. Now other than, I think its going to be a great smoker. I think its burns about one pound of pellets on hour. Give or take a little depending on temp setting. Ice cooked on it several times and I'm pleased with the performance. Id give it five stars if it did not leak and the handle was not broken.

FACTORY INSTALLED WRONG SCREWS THAT CANNOT BE REMOVED!!!!
Went to put this together, which is tedious in the first place. I went to install the chimney on the back, and found that the factory had incorrectly installed tamper-proof fasteners in the screw holes where the chimney is supposed to go. These same tamper-proof fasteners are used (correctly) throughout the rest of the grill to hold things together. My wife bought me this as a present, but I became worried when I read other reviews about quality issues before it arrived. This issue, as with comments in other reviews, should have been caught in any meaningful QA at the factory. I will edit this review as necessary once the company contacts me and provides a satisfactory resolution.

Great pellet grill
After looking around and reading reviews between all the name brand pellet grills I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I Did! Has many of the features as grills costing twice as much. And has a easy fire pit dump for ashes that the others don't have for easy clean-up. Don't get me wrong you will still need to get your shop vac out to give it a complete cleaning but not as often. As far as smoking meats to grilling steaks you couldn't ask for a better grill. Great smoke flavor and yes you will get that smoke ring in your meats that everyone talks about. I've had it for several months now and have smoked brisket, ribs, turkey and chicken and it has exceeded my expectations. Unit is well made and I think will last a long time. I never smoked meats before but after watching YouTube to get ideas on ways to smoke the different meats made it easy ,fun and I never want to go out to eat barbecue again. It's that simple and that delicious!

Great entry level pellet smoker
Overall I am pleased with this grill/smoker. However, there is room for some minor improvements. 1st is leaks lots of smoke around the door. I fixed this by putting some 1/8th thick nomex gasket around the edges of the door. This helped with issue #2 there are some very wide temperature swings. Set on high smoke it would go as high as 310 degrees down to 130 degrees. The end product didn't seem to be affected. At least according to my friends who enjoyed my 1st pulled pork. Issue #3 was it has a hard time holding heat when it gets cool outside. They make an insulated cover for it that I may have to invest in. #4 was the flame outs on the low and high smoke settings. It could be a low quality pellet causing the problem but even the Traeger pellets did it once. The problem is the burn cup keeps filling and if you don't empty it out before trying to restart the grill, you'll have a huge temperature spike. It shot up to 400 degrees on me. The flame sensor definitely leaves a bit to be desired. So I have to babysit the grill. I got a pellet grill so I wouldn't have to babysit as much but turns out I still do. Now the positives are that the food does get a very nice Smokey flavor and I get a very nice smoke ring on the meats. It does smoke quite a bit on both smoke settings. The temperature swings didn't seem to affect the food much if at all. Everything I've cooked on it has turned out better than ever. I would recommend this smoker/grill to someone looking to get started with a pellet smoker on a budget. It does the job but still requires a babysitter, but you can do much more with this than a standard grill or smoker.
