Worth the $$$!
It's a beautiful color. The jewel toned purple is dark, but quite vibrant in the fluorescent light of my school classroom! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it doesn't seem incredibly secure on top. It needs some extra little flaps that go around the top corners of the screen. But I'd definitely buy it again, and I was really happy to get a Speck case for $31 instead of the typical $50. Some people had mentioned having trouble putting it on or with it breaking, so I was a bit hesitant when ordering. However, it was very, very easy to put on my case and I've only been using it for about a week, but I don't see any cracks, nor does it seem like it will break easily.I had originally bought an off brand $10 case off Amazon, it was nice and all but after 3 months 3 of the 4 rubbers stoppers on the bottom had come off since they were just little sticker things. I do not foresee this being a problem with the Speck case. I'm not sure on the technicalities, but it seems as though the feet are kind of embedded in the case, so to come off, I'd probably have to break the case in half. I definitely recommend this one over the cheapies!

Bought this case based on good experience with previous Speck Products satin finish case (5 years old and still going strong)
I bought this case based on previous good experience with one I bought about 5 years ago for a 15" MacBook Pro. That computer is still going strong and the case is still in pretty good shape. I purchased the satin soft touch for the previous computer because its metal body was slippery and I was afraid it would slip off something and fall. The satin finish solved that problem very well. The only problems with the satin finish case are that it does show finger prints and also over time some of the satin finish has disappeared so that the original shiny surface is showing thru. However the case is still completely intact and protecting the computer very well.So far the new case is doing fine. It was easy to put on the new computer as long as one is gentle with the little prongs. This case also does show fingerprints, but otherwise no problems. It looks great on the computer.See my review of the earlier case if you are interested.

Does what it should in style
I bought this for my sister. She has a 13" MacBook Air 2012. The case fits perfectly, however I had to go through installation and removal videos in order to get it right from the first time. I did remove and reinstalled it once, but it isn't easy. If you're asking how difficult it is, well it depends on you really. The color is nice, she's into Tiffany's color so she loves this one. It has a soft touch feeling as the product name indicates. It does allow finger print marks, but nothing you can't wipe easily. No clips were broken during the period of more than a month it has been installed. I do not know if that due to careful use of the device or if the case is solid. Overall, many reviewers would claim this case would just fall off or clips would break, but with normal "gentle" use, you won't face any failures. It is heavier than the Moshi case I have on my own MacBook Air, but she's not complaining.

GREAT case for a MacBook Air.
Update 1/2/2014 - I am downgrading my review of this case. I've had it for around 6 months and am having purchase another case because it has broken. A few of the tabs that lock the case onto the laptop have broken off and the case will not stay on anymore. Again I take very good care of my things so I know I have not been to hard on the case. It has not been dropped and just used on a daily basis like any laptop. I do put it down in carrying case on regular basis but that should not have caused the problems I've had. If you prefer a more durable case that looks better and made out of better material, I would highly recommend the Incipio Feather case for the MacBook Air. I feel that is superior to other cases that I have used.8/8/2013 - I like taking very good care of the things I own. This case looks good and protects the shell of the MBA wonderfully. It has a very nice soft touch to it and also allows the Apple logo to shine through. If that matters to you. It also fits well enough that it barely adds any size or weight. I have owned a couple of different cases and this is one of my favorites.

Awesome cover, but Peacock Blue is more teal green in appearance.
Cover feels great and attached perfectly. Only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because the product is more teal green in color and does not appear to be the same as I ordered, which was Peacock Blue. I was actually going to return this product because I honestly thought I was sent the wrong cover by accident, but then I saw the packaging said "peacock blue". Product was back ordered and so took a month to get to me, but that should be expected when ordering a back ordered item. Highly recommend this product. I use my laptop for nursing school and am on it everyday for hours on end and it is holding up well. Two of my peers bought the generic satin soft tough cover for their MacBooks and have had issues already (foot fell off and corner chipped).

So/So, Bottom Doesn't Stay On
I bought this case to replace an Incase brand shell that had started to peel and chip. The Speck case is much more solid and well constructed. It also "feels" nicer. The satin feel is really just that, soft, If just feels nice to hold. The top shell was easy to install and is very solid. The number of perfectly spaced clips hold it securely in place: no slipping or popping off. This is NOT true of the bottom, however. There are only four small clips that hold the entire bottom on: 2 at the back corners and two on the sides toward the front. I find that the bottom tends to pop off partially or completely quite often. The top and bottom shells work smoothly together, no problems opening or closing the screen. If the bottom shell fit better, I'd give it a higher rating.

Black Mac
It was easy to put onto the M-Air & has stayed on without needing readjustment for about 2 weeksThe finish of the case is hard to explain - rubbery in a way - my only negative on this product is that it shows fingerprints and marks - but if you wipe it off they go away. So you don't always have a clean look - but at the same time your computer isnt getting scratched and finger printed either.

Great protection, but it really adds to the weight
I purchased this case for my 2012 MacBook Air, and generally I'm pleased with it.I wouldn't say it made the best first impression, as it took me a good 5/10 minutes to fit the case onto my MBA. - the instructions weren't as helpful as they could have been, and there were a few occasions when I thought I'd fitted the case and a part of it would then spring off. I've read other reviews recommending that users take the case off every now and again to clear dust, but given this difficulty I think that's too much hassle. In the end though I did manage to get it on, and it fits beautifully. It doesn't add much to the dimensions of the MBA so I haven't experienced any problems sliding the encased MBA into my 13 inch laptop sleeves. The matt feel is lovely, and I like how the Apple logo dimly shines through. I've found that the case shows marks quite easily, but I'll forgive that on the basis that it has already done a great job of protecting my laptop from scratches/the time I dropped it.My only real issue with this case is that it really adds to the weight of my MBA...which is slightly defeating the point of why I chose to buy the Air over the Pro. I haven't had the scales out, but it feels to me like it almost doubles the weight. All in all it's a good case and worth the money, but if you're considering buying it, have a think about where you stand on a trade-off between protection and added weight.

Looks amazing, great protection but a little bit of added weight
I love this so much, I have had it since the end of last year and it looks amazing on my 2014 Mac Air 13. I get so many compliments from family and friends and two of my friends have purchased this after seeing mine.I really wanted to protect my Mac from small nicks and scratches as I can be a little clumsy and this is doing an amazing job. You can see the Apple logo through the case and it doesn't interfere with any of the ports or with closing the screen. After 6 months of use, it is starting to show a few noticeable scratches and smudges but whilst these are visible, it is a reminder that the case is doing its job and protecting my Mac from those scratches. I imagine that at this rate I will probably replace it after about 18-24 months. Please note, this case does add a little bit of weight to my Mac. I believe this is only noticeable as the Mac Air weighs so little to begin with and with the case, it is still much lighter than my friend's 2012 Macbook Pro. But the added weight is a small payoff for the great protection and stylish look.

Great value for money!
I certainly got what I paid for. Yes, this case is 2-3 times more expensive that an average Macbook air case you find here on Amazon, but the material on this one is definitely superior to other cheaper alternatives. I bought a cheaper one before for half the price, and in just a week's use, one side of the case got chipped off and within a few months, the remaining sides also cracked. This one now feels very sturdy and robust, with a sleek nice matte finish, which makes a very attractive finishing touch for the overall look of the Mabook air. I hope this one will last me more than just a few months. Thank you for the extremely fast shipping!

always been happy with speck
I used to have a speck case on my old macbook pro and it never failed me. When I got a macbook air I tried several cheaper cases at around a tenner each which all cracked, chipped and broke within a few months. I then went back to speck and have had this case for several months now without a single problem.Generally find that speck are a good brand and it's worth paying the extra for a product that lasts.

Perfect fit - don't waste your money buying cheaper ones
I'm so HAPPY with this Speck case that I've already bought another one to change colors from time to time. It fits perfectly and it seems strong (my laptop have felt a couple of time now and the case is still complete and shinning as new).I really recommend to buy Speck or certified brands, because I used to have a generic one and it just didn't fit properly and it broke into pieces very quick.
