A quality budget speaker cable
Not sure why so many people are having problems with these cables, they’ve worked great for me. Bought a pair about a year ago which are still working fine, and recently bought a second pair which I also had no issues with. They sound very clean and clear, and the cable/banana plugs are of very good quality. I couldn’t ask for much more in a speaker cable. I highly recommend you give these a try if your looking for a high quality terminated speaker cable at a great price. Thanks!

Works perfectly
The wires have a nice heavy feel to them and appear to be made very well. I use them to connect some bookshelf speakers to a home theatre receiver.

Not great - 50% strike rate
I had some difficulty getting these cables to function when they first arrived. At first I thought one of the channels on my amp was broken; however, after some perseverance both speakers came to life. The build quality of the cables appears good, but I was never overly excited by the sound quality - you get what you pay for I suppose. Anyway, after using these for a month and a half one of the cables has stopped functioning - the other is still working. Be warned.

I solved the problem everyone is having with this cable!
Are you having problems with no sound? Or does the sound cut in and out as you wiggle the connectors? - Well I have the solution for you...First the problem: The solider is intended to be exactly flush with the top of the wire guide tube. In many cases manufacturing didn't quite get it right. Sometimes the solder has bumps or burs on the top area which causes the bottom of the connector not to contact properly. The cap needs to screw down all the way to make proper contact at the bottom. The solution: Sand the solder joint flush with the top of the wire guide tube. Get rid of any solder that extends beyond the end of the tube. Bumps, burs, mounds, etc. Make a flat surface on top. I used a Dremmel tool, but you could use sandpaper or your wife's metal nail-file.... Then clean the area with alcohol, screw the cap back on TIGHTLY...Presto you will now have sound.Must be hard to maintain proper soldering tolerance at the factory as many many people have been experiencing the 'no signal' issue.... Remember, the solder needs to be sanded flat on the top and the lid needs to be screwed down tightly after you're done. Check all your connections with these wires. Unfortunately we need to. But at least you can fix it permanently without having to go through the return procedure. Mine took all of 10 minutes to fix. You're welcome. :)

Why your banana plugs are failing...
These are high quality cables, very heavy, a testament to their actual gauge and copper content. However, there is one very minor design flaw. The thickness and therefore stiffness of these cables are why some people are experiencing banana plug failures. One can combat this by making sure there is little to no stress on the cables at rest. These cables will see heat and vibration and coupled with stress will almost guarantee failure at the base of the banana plug. Also, make sure plugs are screwed on tight with pliers to ensure solid and lasting connection. I have not had any issues or failures with these cables and can confirm the stated gauge. Buy em!
