This machine works with pedal, it is a mechanical machine.

Q: Is a hard case included with the Janome 5000 mechanical machine?

A hard cover which offers some protection is included. It does not include a hard case.

Q: I ordered the 5000, and it seams really loud. Is this normal

Try putting a pad under it. It is a bit louder - but it has metal parts instead of plastic.

Q: What is the difference between the hd3000 and the hd5000?

The Janome website comparison of the two machines (I have the same question) says the Stitch width is the same in both the HD3000 and HD5000: 6.5mm. The HD 3000 has 21 stitches while the 5000 has 18. The 3000 also has two needle positions, the 5000 has one. The 3000 has foot pressure adjustment, the 5000 does not. I don't understand the price difference which is negligeable anyway. The housing is exactly the same (size/weight).
