It's been long enough now (9 months) that I'm going up on the rating to a full 5-star. It has not appeared to have worn at all. Finish, fit and function still perfect. The neck is still tight, even though it is literally being adjusted constantly throughout the day as my reading or other needs change. And the clamp is as strong as ever. Well worth the money!ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is an excellent piece of equipment. Everything about it is "just right": The light is the perfect color, it's the perfect size for what I need (a reading lamp), the clamp is powerful and well-made, and the touch function works well (although it only works at the base of the lamp, it's not hard to reach it, and it works fine). The three light levels are perfect too; the low one gives just enough light to cover a small working area, while the high one will light up a significant part of the room.

I just unboxed one of these, and it exceeds my expectations for build quality. The light is nicely controllable, and the goose neck is sturdier than it looks. The power cord is a bit on the thin and delicate side, but it's fine for office use. The clamp has some fairly serious holding force, which is good.One caveat: The capacitive touch control does need you to have contact with the base or some other surface that is (at least partially) electrically connected to the base. This is documented in the manual, but worth mentioning in this pre-sales context. It's not a problem as long as you know about it.I needed a small, controllable, and cool task light for my rolling laptop workstation, and this unit works very nicely.

Great lamp; except for the fact that it lasted a grand total of almost three (3) months to the day before burning out! It's an LED lamp for heaven's sake, it should last for years! I'd give it 0 stars minus 5 stars if that were possible.UPDATE: I must update my above review in light (No pun intended!) of the fact that upon sending this review to Amazon to be forwarded to the distributor and told Amazon that I felt the product should be replaced at no charge because it lasted only three months before the bulb burned out.Within two days I received an email from the Distributor that they would immediately replace (free of charge) the unit. In view of this expedient response, and with a favorable response from the company that makes it, I must update my review to reflect a five-star rating!From the beginning of receiving this lamp, it must be reported that it is, in fact, an excellent product in quality and for the reason that it does exactly what the description states. It allows me to use the lamp to read, in an otherwise completely dark room, while the beam does not bother my wife next to me, leaving her area almost completely dark! I recommend this lamp for anyone with the desire to have a product with such a feature.OK; I'm back and this is the third (#3 lamp) that I'd ordered. Now this update had some new information that you all may want to hear.First of all, this is an excellent lamp for the price, it has all the attributes one could possibly want for it's stated purpose. This is the first 'contemporary' bed lamp that I've found that truly leaves the other half of your bed (your wife's side!) completely dark while providing enough illumination to easily read on your side (or vice versa), It does have three distinct levels of illumination that are easily controlled with just a swipe of your hand over the circle of light which in at its base. The light that it provides is even and stable across the small circle on which it shines.Now the reason for this updated review. Because it does have LED lamps one would believe it to last for years; NOT! My second one (the Free One) sent to me by the manufacturer just now gasped its last breath! No problem; I'm not even going to report this one to the manufacturer or Amazon simply because I've grown to love this lamp and the versatility that it provides. Soooo, will comfortably recommend this, AND give it a five-star rating because of it's relatively low price and it's functionality. It has now become to me a full-fledged 'throwaway'. When this one burns out with a year or so, I'll just toss it out and order another!Give it a try, maybe the longevity you all get will be better than my experience; and I guarantee you'll love this lamp??!God Bless!D.O'D.

These lamps are great. The power wire is very long and the clamp at the base holds tightly to my 3/4 inch thick headboard without scratching it. The long power wire and strong clamp allow for convenient placement. There is a separate wire connected to the base of the lamp that has an easy to access on/off switch. The power wire plugs in to this shorter wire. Just above this area lights up in a red circle to let you know that the lamp is plugged in. This is not a distracting bright red light but it helps you to know where to reach to switch the actual lamp on in the dark. Also when you touch this area the light cycles through its 3 levels of brightness. The lowest brightness is like a night light. The highest setting is very bright. When I read in bed I mostly use the middle setting which is easy on the eyes. The flexible goose neck allows you to focus the light where you want it. It also allows you to curl the lamp and tuck it away neatly when not in use. Like the title says these lamps are so good that I bought two.

Loved this lamp and like the touch mechanism for adjusting brightness. My 1st one lasted about 3 years. My second one lasted only 8 months. The brightest setting flickers. VERY DISAPPOINTED because it is not cheap..If you get one, buy the 4 year Protection plan. I prefer reliability over the struggle of reporting a faulty lamp.
