This is a must-have for any aquarium filtration system! It helps keep nitrate levels low, improves water quality, and keeps the tank running smoothly. If you’re planning to add coral, this product is essential in my opinion. It really helps maintain a clean, healthy, nitrate-free aquarium. Makes your water very clear in the matter of a couple days.

This is a great product if you do not have reactors or heavy stocked tank only problem is that it states that it last longer than I have found that it truley last. No matter how sparse or heavy your tank is on contents of any kind of coral or fish. This product last between 4 to 6 week I lean closer to the 4 weeks I have placed this is area of really good flow in a basket made to hold bagged contents for this purpose and after 4 weeks even repositioned my test start to change that indicate it is exhausted how ever the ferric oxide will last till 6 weeks. it tapers to no effect;starting at the end of 4 weeks then zero by 6 weeks for my tanks. But changing this out approximately between the 4 and 5 week absolutely week 6 it does an awesome job. This product does cut out having to have separate bags for charcoal and ferric oxide plus no mess so every month is worth it I just wish they would state 4 to 6 weeks. I also use purigen which with this is great and that product doe change colors when it exhaust( note in separate bags as purigen has to have a 180 micron bag and the amount is really small and the exhaust time is dependent on the AMOUNT of contents needing to be absorbed at the time of use ). All and al for tanks 75 gallon specially cubes 30 gal or less this product is AWESOME!

I used this product on both my 75 and 125 freshwater aquariums. They were both a little hazy - and literally within 2 hours of adding these media pouches to my canister filters the water was clear as could be for both tanks. No negative impacts to the fish either. I will be using this product as needed as long as it is available =)

I had alot of tannins in water from driftwood. Was doing water changes every week. It wasn't long before it came back. I chemi pure and a week later I have super clear water with no tannins

I think this isn't the greatest idea for smaller tanks unless you always use it and replace the media fairly regularly. I don't think it's a great idea to drop these into smaller reef aquariums that have algae because sudden phosphate swings may actually be detrimental to the system. If you do have algae in your aquarium already, this isn't a great idea. Adding so much phosphate media will remove the phosphate suddenly and you run the risk of crashing the algae population and causing contamination with other organic pollutants and ammonia swings as algae dies. If you do want to use this media, you either have to use it in larger systems (50 Gallons and above) or you have to use it all the time from the beginning of the aquarium life span.
