A solid long-haul pack
I purchased this pack nearly a year ago, and since then I have put about a hundred miles (or so) on it. Let me give you the rundown:Pro’s: This pack is a solid piece of equipment. Well made, well stitched and tight. I have yet to hear a creak or squeak. A few of the zippers can be a bit grabby, but I can live with that. This pack can hold (and) carry 80 L plus. With a floating, removable, top pack, you can even strap a bear vault to this pack and extend the capacity by 7 plus more liters. Took this pack on a extended trip through the Indian Peaks Wilderness and it carried all my gear plus a number of items for my three teenage sons. Although at times I wished for lighter pack, it handled the load very well. The front panel excess is fantastic. I have never liked the “dig from the top down” design of most internal frames, and being able to get at anything via the front (and the side and the bottom) of the pack is awesome. This pack fits and rides like a dream. I hauled over fifty pounds on a recent trip (had to help another hiker), and although I was hauling more than I wanted to haul, the pack felt beautiful. It locks right on to your hips and stays put.The adjust as-you go suspension system works really well. Once adjusted (which was e-z), this pack fit right with my center of gravity and did not shift around.Con’s: This pack is heavy, coming in much closer to 6 lbs then 5.5 lbs. It is designed to carry 80 L (plus), so this should come as no surprise.Nature abhors a vacuum… This pack is not, IMHO, a good choir for an all-around pack. As backpackers we have a tendency to fill up the space that we are given, and this pack will certainly encourage that. For trips around 1 to 3 (or MAYBE 4) days I use a 65 L (either an external frame by Alps Mountaineering or the Osprey Atmos 65) pack. For long hauls and carrying stuff for other hikers (like my kids), this is my go to pack.Bottom-line: If you are looking for a solid, well-fitting long-haul pack, the Coyote 80 will serve you very well.

3.5/5 for this price point. Hope to see what Kelty does.
So far seems to be a good bag but there are some flaws I should mention.-Wish it used the sleeping bag compartment zipper for all of them not just that one part. The other zippers feel too small/delicate. I have a feeling if your bag is stuffed the smaller zipped will be a weak point and just split apart from the pressure.-speakong of zippers the small chord attached is too thin so it will slip through the gap, will most likely replaced with parachord.-constant snags when using zipper, even with the seam/flap flipped up and going slow.-for the hydration bladder pocket there are two clip/hook things to attach your bladder if it's compatible (my deuter one has compatible holes) if not, there is a sturdy loop in center you can either tie parachord to or use a small carabiner to hang the bladder. A better design would be to make this loop Velcro for easier removal when refilling.-the daypack/top section fits slightly awkwardly although I didn't fill it to the brim, if imagine it would sit better if there was something like a balled up fleece under it.-maybe I'm picturing it weird but the sleeping bag compartment seems oddly designed, it seems the bottom compression straps would push the bag upwards? I might be wrong but a possible better design for the divider could be a drawstring closure just like at the top so it pushed down from the top as well just to keep it in place better.-two straps at the top on the daypack would be better to add a blanket/pad there just to have that extra storage option. (You can fit one under the daypack and tighten that down but it looks awkward to me)-could use extra interior pockets in the front compartment to better organize instead of having stuff rolling around loosely. All in all it's a good bag for the price not the lightest or most durable but that's just the sacrifice for the relatively low price. Of kelty fixed the aforementioned points it would easily the only bag to consider at this price.

Great for urban travel and on the trail
It is just what I needed. I bought this mostly for international travel (planes, trains and automobiles). I am 6'0" (183cm) and I feel like this is the max size I could carry before it gets to be too much to negotiate on buses and subways. I am super happy that I didn't get the 65L. I might get one of those for the wife. The material is a compromise between weight and durability. It held up well as checked baggage, but I can imagine that holes could be scuffed through the fabric. Given the size of the pack, I am dread to think how much more weight would be added if it had thicker materials. The bottom, middle and top loading are very handy. I use packing cubes to keep clothes and gear organized and they really complete the system. The detachable brain bag turns into a sling and it is nicer than I expected. It isn't setup to be a hydration daybag, so I had a separate daybag anyway. I checked this bag with the brainbag attached and carried my other daybag onto the plane. If I was camping, the brainbag could be very useful for short jaunts from basecamp. I would just use a water bottle or bag instead of a bladder.

Bin zufrieden
Passt!

Fantastic product, have used the bag for about 8 trips now and absolutely love it, great features, very comfortable and really good quality. Have already recommended it to a number of my friends. I looked through a number of bags before getting this and can tell you quality, weight & features Vs price point ratio - This product has the best balance! Would highly recommend it!
