easy install. Great customer service
The set up was easy. Programming was simple. Auto lock isn't working. I'm still able to open the door using the handle. I even tried to lock it with the key and the key became stuck. I had to take it completely apart to remove the key. I have reached out to customer service to see if they can determine the problem. I'll be returning this and possibly ordering a replacement to see if this is just a defective piece of equipment. I want this to work. If a 2nd one works, I'll upgrade this review.Update. I reached out to customer service. They were very helpful. My biggest advice to everyone is if you are going to reverse the handle, make sure you reverse all the inner mechanics. This was the reason the key was getting stuck. I changed the review to 5 stars b/c of the rapid customer service response and how helpful they were. This lock is awesome.

Going keyless is amazing!
I’m a college student who lives a house with 9 other people. I trust my housemates because they’re my friends, but I still do like a bit of security and convenience especially because I have a lot of stuff in my room. Thought it’d be a bit overkill buying an electronic door lock, but it’s probably the best purchase I’ve ever made. You’ll see these kinds of knobs for established family households or even offices, but this definitely has a place for the average consumer. I wasn’t going to spend hundreds on something like the August Smart Lock so, at around $80, this seemed to be the perfect alternative. The assembly and setup is definitely a challenge so make sure to read the instructions carefully, but once it’s ready to go, you literally have nothing to worry about anymore. I’ve had mine for over a year and the battery still hasn’t run dry. Being able to punch in a code is so much more convenient and quicker than having a key, but if you still want that option, the handle itself has a hidden keyhole as a short-term alternative for when the battery runs out. Other features like RFID scanning, illuminated buttons (when pressed), and auto-lock all add to the convenient package that this lock provides. Given its competitive price point, features, and reliability, I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a convenient alternative to the traditional lock and key.

You get exactly what you paid for - Stay Away from this Chinese junk !
This has to be one of my all time worst purchases. worked for about 2 unlocking's then fails to unlock! Seemed OK as I opened it. Decent weight, Packing was good and that's all I can say good about it. Programed it Ok, no problems there. locked it and it unlocked just fine by both the codes I had entered and the cards. Went out and came back and took the code beeped as it should and sounded like it was unlocking but didn't. Tried a card and it opened. Thought I must have made a mistake with the code, tried the code again and it worked. Went out to the garage came back 5 minutes later same thing took the code and sounded like it was unlocking but didn't, tried the card that I had just used 5 minutes earlier beeped and sounded like it was unlocking but NOPE, not this time, tried every code I had programed with the same result sounds like its unlocking but doesn't luckily had spare keys to the other door in the car. tried the codes and card again still no luck. had to remove the lock to get back in the door....this is pure garbage....Looks OK , sounds like it is working but DOESN'T UNLOCK !!!

Easy to program but missing some key design elements
Easily programmable with many thoughtful and practical options to choose from, it looks nice, and appears to be commercial quality (my application). However I did deduct one star for several reasons: 1) Out of the 15 locks I purchased 3 are exterior duty and the locks are not rated weatherproof nor weather resistant - they will still be installed. 2) Two locks will be installed in doors thicker than these locks are designed for and I will now have to buy 7MM key stock to make a longer spindle and some other metric hardware from an electronics store to adapt those 2. I believe there should be a separate parts package from the manufacturer to cover my application so I do not have to engineer my installation. 3) These locks cannot be keyed alike and I now have to inventory 15 keys for 15 locks. It shouldn't have to be that way! 4) I discovered too late that a numerical code can only be used in each lock one time. In other words all 200 users will have to have a 4-8 digit number unique to them. I had planned and deigned my system to have one numerical code per floor of the building where these locks will be installed in concert with a unique card per user ID. I was forced to abandon that logic and was resigned to using only a card/fob per individual user. It will work that way but it wasn't the promise I made to the committee which okayed the purchase. 5) Although I have not installed any yet (it took 7 hours for me to program all 15 locks and change the handle direction on nearly half of them) I do not like the idea that the battery life is less than 3 months. That creates a maintenance headache for me and I do not need any more of those. I bought a battery charger and 80+ AA NiMH rechargeable batteries to install in these as I could not stand the idea of having to recycle 60 batteries every three months. That is, however, a gamble due to the fact that type of battery only puts out 1.2Vs as opposed to 1.5Vs for an alkaline throw away and, as I understand it, the lock is designed to signal low battery at 4.8Vs. It could turn out to be a bad plan. I will update this review in the future about battery life and the use of NiMH in these locks. 6) Changing the handle orientation on the keypad part of the lock is more tedious than it needs to be as you have to remove 7 or 8 small flat head screws on the back plate before you even get to the handle set screw. Anyway, I'm off to start installing my first one.UPDATE Sep 11, 2017 NiMH rechargeable batteries and handle issueDo not use rechargeable batteries in these locks as I've already replaced batteries in one highly used lock twice in a 3 week span. I have since begun the process of changing out all 15 locks with throw away alkalines when the 'green' batteries go down. I'm now stuck with 72 NiMH batteries and a nice charger. One other thing to note is the spring loaded pin which exposes the mechanical lock is in a place that some users grab and squeeze causing the handle to slide open. In fact, one handle was broken in half because of that type of incident. I think if I had it all to do over again I would have purchased the other Ardwolf version that has the lock exposed.

Update after 2 years of daily use
Install was easy after assembling the item without the door. instructions are terrible and the codes used to setup users are a pain and but arn't bad so long as you aren't adding/removing users regularly.Instructions call for drilling a hole of the upper portion of the lock to prevent any rotation of the unit. I found (for my use on a closet door to keep small kids out) that I didn't need to drill this hole. The unit is very solid and does move when mildly trying to rotate the whole unit, when just using the lower bolts through the door hole already there. So far only had this for 2 days and it has worked flawlessly every time using code/card/key. I will update this review if any problems crop up.Update: 11/17After a few months of daily use this is holding up well (indoor use). Highly recommended product. No issues.UPDATE: Jan 29, 2019I have used this almost daily since 2017 and it still works perfect. And I am on the same battery! Amazing. Highly recommend. Every morning, night and sometimes in between I use the physical keypad to get into an area. Never gives me fuss.
