... reading the graphs for interference can be a bit like reading tea leaves
The refresh rate especially at 5GHz is very slow and reading the graphs for interference can be a bit like reading tea leaves. Having said that, it's a useful addition to the toolkit to tell if wireless (especially non-802.11) interference is around, especially when a proper spectrum analyser isn't available.

Excellent Wi-Fi spectrum analyzer for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz! Works with Android
Pretty good Wi-Fi spectrum analyzer. Ultimately, I think it is too expensive for what it does but I think it does it well and is a very convenient tool if you can afford it.This is a tool that is definitely superior to your regular phone apps since it doesn't just display the strength of a Wifi beacon but also gives you the full understanding of real-time Wifi spectrum utilization in your vicinity:* you will know which access points are heavily used and which are not at any instance in time. If someone in your vicinity is downloading/streaming anything large over any wifi channel, you will see it.* it will let you discover hidden wifi access points (especially, if they are used currently).A few major features:* Works with Android. (Should also work with newer ipads/iphones with lightning connection but I never tried it)* Works with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi networks (not at the same time! you need to switch between the modes)* The app is very intuitive (I am not an expert and I found it really easy to understand). Has different regimes: both frequency domain view and water fall diagram. Different coloring schemes of the spectrum. Different thresholds and so on and so worth. I think you can log the data to a file but I never tried that featureThings that could be improved:* No USB OTG cable included. If you need to connect it to Android, you must buy USB OTG cable. This costs $7 and extra waiting time. I would imagine $500 device that advertises compatibility with Android could afford to include a standard $7 cable with it* Flimsy antenna. The antenna that I received with the unit was not the blue antenna that is now on the picture - it was a kind of flimsy black plastic rubber ducky-style. It would rotate easily and felt flimsy. Didn't seem to affect the performance though.* It would be nice to be able to connect it to a PC (for long-term monitoring in the same location).* It is way too expensive for what it does but I guess one pay for mobile convenience. Say, Hackrf is half the price but is not nearly as convenient to use for Wifi monitoring. I decided not to take any stars as the price is something one knows ahead of time and accepts at the time of the purchase.

USB-C issues
Great device for laptop and previous gen phones. It doesn't come with USB-C cable and after buying my own I couldn't get it to work with my Samsung S8+ or another co-workers S9 Note

One of the best troubleshooting tools for Wi-Fi
If your looking to find out why your Wi-Fi isn’t working or need to optimize it, get this tester. Simple to use and it saves you time in troubleshooting. We have used it several times in several projects and it paid for itself 10 x over. We use it on the iPad, and iPhone. Works well on the surface as well. Support is also awesome. We had an issue with the new iPad Pro and they quickly helped us resolve the connection issue.

Five Stars
Love it. Use it almost daily in my job.

It is easy to read on either my iphone or ipad
I have been using this spectrum analyzer for my film industry camera drone location scouts for 5 months. I rely on it's accurate reading of the 2.4 and 5ghz spectrums to help me anticipate any unforeseen clogged airwaves. As my drones operate on these various spectrums, I find it very informative to know ahead of time how I should expect my transmissions to perform with the help of the WiPry 5x and it's analysis of the traffic on the various channels. The readout is very clean. It is easy to read on either my iphone or ipad. The portability of this device is perfect, as when I'm scouting I am using various tools for analysis of the area and it's nice that this tool in particular is small enough to fit in a pocket and quickly activate once plugged into a device. This company's customer service is top notch. I've been in communication with them as I needed this ahead of a scout day back when I bought it and they made it sure it arrived on time.

This device is quite amazing for it's compact size
This device is quite amazing for it's compact size. I use it with my iPhone, and iPad Pro. It is very useful as it shows a waterfall plot as well as the standard spectrum analyzer style display. This makes activity on all 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands pretty clear to understand. It also shows SSIDs on the plot so you can use it to figure out which sources associate to which ID with a little walking around. The company is very responsive to inquiries, and ships out products quickly. They release software updates periodically demonstrating their efforts to continually improve. They recently had an antenna upgrade that they shipped out at no charge to me.When I can't carry a full sized spec-an, this is a great alternative. $500 is not expensive for what this device does, and any technician with the need to cary a spectrum analyzer for WIFI viewing will be well served by this device.

It works, but is overpriced and slow on 5Ghz
3* due to what you get for what you pay.I have used the 2.4Ghz only version of this before (which is good) and bought this with the expectation that my experience would be the same. This is not the case. When scanning on 5Ghz, the refresh rate is so slow, it’s impossible to gather any accurate information. Which defeats the point. I thought this was due to it running on a phone. The performance was still slow on a Windows laptop. If you’re testing RSSI (measuring dBm) you have to wait a few seconds each time you want a result and have to wait for a few refresh cycles to confirm the reading is stable/correct. This is fine in your own home. But not if you’re gathering data for an install in let’s say a multi storey office. The app is functional, but not fantastic. There is limited reporting functionality and the interface could be better. It’s also crashed a few times on me.Worth pointing out that there are the following cables included: “USB A - mini USB”, “lightning - mini USB” and “micro USB - mini USB”I’m still going to keep it as it does technically work and is useful due to portability. It’s just not as responsive or a good as something like a “WiSpy DBx + Chanalyzer” or “Ekahau’s ESS + SideKick” but I guess you get what you pay for.
