I've tried many a car wax in the past, from one pound tins up to the expensive Autoglym one. The best I'd tried yet was the Autoglym one, but that's a small pot for your money. This seems to provide exactly the same finish, but for far less money. Mine wasn't the same packaging as shown, but came in a flat tin with a plastic cover housing the applicator pad (a neat round bit of soft foam). After an initial polish, this still glides on the bodywork - you certainly don't need too much. As it's a fairly hard wax you need to rub the pad on it to load it up but not too hard by any means. I only needed to leave it for 5 minutes, and it dried in an almost clear haze. Wiping off with one cloth then buffing up with a microfiber left a stupendous glaze that was easily identifiable from paintwork without it. As you don't need much there wasn't too much dust that you can get with some waxes. Dirt seems to slide off the paintwork much more readily. Doesn't leave a colour cast on the white roof of my now gleaming red Mini. This may not be cheap but I suspect it will last a long time as my first use barley made a mark on the contents.

So, I have mixed feelings about this product. However, before I continue let me note that I did in fact give the product 5 stars. I probably just saved myself from a storm of angry responses. Quite frankly, this is a great wax. It looks pretty good, and it is extremely easy to remove. I've read some reviews where they stated that #26 was a bit difficult to get off. I have no idea what they're talking about, maybe it was their first time waxing because it was a joke. When it starts hazing, two motions of a microfiber with firm pressure is pretty much all it takes. For people who haven't ever used paste wax, I'd say this is a great place to start because the results are good and it's a breeze to use. Now for the downside...if you can call it that. Quite frankly, it's not really any different than any other wax on the market. I've been using turtle wax for a while now (just because the damn jar lasts forever), and I've constantly heard that Turtle wax pales in comparison to products from Mother's and Meguiar's. In fact, I've had many people tell me that turtle wax doesn't even come close to Meguiar's waxes, and that #26 is the best of the best. I kept hearing about how it would instantly give you a "showroom shine" and a "deep wet look" that no other wax could match. Googling #26 yields tons of threads where people go on and on about how great #26 is. Soo needless to say I went in with very very high expectations... Unfortunately, it doesn't really look any better than any other wax I've used. I can't speak for the longevity of the wax because I applied it fairly recently, but I imagine most people who wax regularly don't care about that anyway. I even waxed one of the panels using my 3 year old jar of turtle wax to see how much better Meguiar's was. I couldn't notice any difference. I had one of my friend's check it out, and he couldn't tell me which panel had been waxed with the turtle wax either. That's not to say that my car looked bad, it looked stunning! My real gripe was that it would have looked equally stunning if I had just used my ancient jar of turtle wax that is looked down upon by most professional detailers. I would have thought that using "the best wax" would yield results that were markedly different!! While I would certainly say that Meguiar's is an improvement over turtle wax due to ease of application and equally reasonable price, I do not recommend it if you already have a wax product at home. If you don't have any wax at all, sure get Meguiar's #26. Otherwise, just stick with whatever you're using because you really won't notice any difference.
