This large size flashlight is heavy and rugged. It is suitable for use as a self defense baton as well as a powerful flashlight that shrine up to 600 feet. 3 D size batteries can power it up to 40 hours on high 705 lumens so it save battery. The lumens rating here is realistic and not inflated like many others selling on Ebay and Amazon. The Cree LED is American made and is much better quality and will last you 50,000 hours without much degrade over time. Other LED or manufacturers may have poor heat management that making the LED dim to less than 50% after a set of batteries even changing to fresh batteries. It is great for your everyday use.
