Poor sound quality, poor speaker hook up and useless storage
For starters, the sound quality is awful compared to speakers I spent a similar amount on. Crackles badly at mid range volumes and loud gets worse and worse. The audio cable plugin could not have been located in a worse area as it hits the storage compartment section even if it's empty causing the chord to warp and sound to go in/out. I didn't both with the USB hook up as I'd need to put an entire iPhone USB chord and between that and the iPhone your supposed storage is lost. Absolute waste and I returned the product the day I bought it. I'll look for another similar product with BlueTooth capabilities or just use a regular bluetooth sound bar in a basket on the bike.

Very loud for a tiny speaker. Easy to use.
I am giving it five stars. I knew it was bulky, it has a short battery life of 3 maybe 4 hours, and not a lot of functionality BUT it gets the job done. A lot of people expected too much out of a $29.00 product. I didn't expect any. I needed speakers to hook up my Ipod while I am doing long distance rides. I never wear earphones when I ride because the bicycle lane in my area are full of riders from other states so they pretty much have no clue what the rules of the road are. They just barrel their way down the road resulting in numerous accidents. The bicycle speakers are bulky and you may have to find a way to latch the left and right Velcro straps around the handlebar. The middle Velcro loop couldn't reach my bicycle stem so I improvised by using a small piece of Velcro strap used to tie-down home entertainment cables and looped it through the middle Velcro and then around the handlebar. My handlebar has a reflector, an odo/speed meter, and then two Velcro straps from these speakers that go around the handlebar. A bit crowded on the handlebar already but everything fits well. I have a very very nice carbon road bicycle and now it's "tricked out" with these speakers. I can park my ride on the bicycle lane shoulder, play some acid house music, and look cool. LOL! Seriously though, just make sure the speakers don't crush the brake cables and shifters. The speakers should just sit on the cables and not crush them.Sound wise- well...for $29.00 it's not bad at all. The speakers are loud and you can hear it clearly even on a windy day. Don't expect the speakers to sound like a home theater system. How do the speakers sound exactly? If you have a pair of office computer speakers, you know those non-branded pair of speakers that your IT Department hooked up to your office PC , that's how these bicycle speakers sound. Get the idea?Battery life will go for 3 maybe 4 hours. Like any device that's out there, and this is not something that only exists with $29.00 devices; the louder the volume, the more power the device needs to draw from its battery, which leads to a shorter battery life. So go easy on the volume.Other functions: You can use a flash drive as your music source instead of an mp3 player. I use an Ipod. You simply connect your flash drive to the supplied USB cable that's attached directly into the speakers. Again, using this method will draw power again from the battery which leads to more battery drain because now the speakers are draining power to pump the speakers and then pull your sound files from the flash drive. I recommend just using an Ipod, the main drawback is that you can't use any of the PLAY, STOP, buttons on the speakers. These buttons only work when you use a flash drive (SD cards can also be used). The only button functionality that will work if you use an Ipod/mp3 player as a music source will be the VOLUME button. To hook up an Ipod, just connect one end of the supplied audio cable to your Ipod and then the other end into the AUX input of the speakers. Easy.Overall, I am happy with my purchase. If you are expecting to hear home theater type sound with lots of bells and whistles, then look elsewhere..maybe hook up a boombox on the handlebar. If you are looking for a pair of speakers to get your through those long rides, while at the same time having audio awareness of your surroundings (like riders yelling "On your Left! On your Right!), then this speakers is your best option.

Piece of junk!
Piece of junk! Really disappointed with this product. I had high hopes for this speaker as I did want to use ear buds while riding a bike. After fully charging the battery, I used the original purchase one time on a 30 minute bike ride. It would not play on the return ride home. The charge is suppose to last 3 - 4 hours according to instructions. I plugged it in again when I got back home and the red light charge indicator came back on so I let it charge (and charge and charge, etc....). It would not re-charge. I contacted Ivation directly for a return authorization. In addition to the purchase price, I had to pay $9.45 (USPS) to return this piece of crap per their repair or replace warranty (mailed on August 4, received replacement August 16). Guess what? The replacement has been charging for over 8 hours now (should take 2 - 3) and the red light is still on. I even tried to play a USB with the device still plugged in and it would not play. I will not spend another nickel on this piece of garbage and would try to discourage anyone else from making this mistake.

and I will do my best to let others know what they're getting into before ...
I've had this for two days now, and I will do my best to let others know what they're getting into before purchasing this product. On the surface: this looks like a great product. No longer do you have to be weary of in-ear buds or headphones in general that distract your awareness while on a ride. You can have the comfort of listening to your music, and hearing signs of danger while going high speeds. When I got this in the mail, it took just as long as shipping said it would - 2 days. Mind you, I got the express shipping. But it came right on time, in a nice little package. The mount: I have a road bike and it perfectly wraps around it. It's easy to adjust, the only issue is it gets in the way of my front mirror. But that's not an issue, because I have a light on my helmet when riding nights anyways. 4/5 for the mount. The speaker quality: at this point, I have not bothered riding my bike yet. Its safely on my bike, but I want to hear the sound first. And let me tell you, it does a great job of being loud. When I did ride it, it was loud enough for me. As long as you do not ride your bike near busy streets with loud traffic, you'll have a blast with the quality. Now here's the biggest issue. Everything is so well with this product so far. The battery life lasts a long time, it's RECHARGEABLE. It does a good job of shock resistance on my ipod. It stays on nice and I don't have to worry about it falling off. But the thing is, the way the aux cord is set up in the pouch is AWKWARD. When you zip it shut, and fold it down - it creates a problem. Every time you go over a bump, and I mean even the smallest one (especially going at high speeds) it will stop playing momentarily. It will play back on its own again, but this is sooooo frustrating. And makes this unenjoyable. Can you imagine 3/4 of your trip constantly having your music stop for a second or two every minute? What an annoyance. To add insult to injury, the front panels do not even work. They only work if you have a USB. The only thing I have found to alleviate this problem is to use a flash drive. With the flash drive plugged in, there is none of this problem. Because the flash drive is directly connected to the pouch and it doesn't have a cable for you to connect. So there is not an awkward fit, which in turn makes for a smooth ride. And on top of that, the front panels actually work. But it's annoying drag and dropping new music I want for each trip I want to take. What happens if I change my mind? I don't have access to my large music library (160 gb) but am instead restricted to 8gb. Oh, and for some reason, a 32gb flash drive does not want to work with this product.I'm very disappointed.
