Awesome Stuff!
I can't say enough good things about this material. The uses go beyond simple ridge vents; I have found all sorts of ways to use it for plugging gaps and cracks that might otherwise be unsuitable for filling material. I am going to keep a supply of this on hand!

Ideal product for the for several purposes.
This is a flexible woven mesh pad and there should be a better photo and description to clarify exactly what it is. I use this on standing seam metal roofing with a ridge vent. I cut in a 4" wide ridge vent (2" on each side). I put screen over the vent gap and then add this as additional vent screening material (2 is 1, 1 is none) under the metal ridge cap to keep out the bats and hard wind driven rain. It was ideal for this. Cuts easy with a tin snips and is flexible. I am now using it, cut in narrow strips for the bug screen at the bottom and top of the drainage plane under the cement board siding I am installing. It cuts into narrow long strips quite easily, offers good drainage and stops bug infiltration, goes up fast & cost effective. I even used a scrap as a Brillo pad a while back. The best way to think of this, is as a giant roll of black, coarse, Brillo Pad that is used as venting filter material and you have a good understanding of what it is.

Not easy to get perfect
Provides proper ventilation if you are very careful not to compress the material by nailing. It seems that on my house, the proper attic ventilation is hampered by compressing the material too much, which prevents airflow. It seems to be tricky getting the material & shingles nailed securely, without compressing this material too much, thereby defeating its purpose.

This is how I used it with metal R panel
I installed this stuff on a metal roof with ridge vent. I had never used this stuff before, or installed a ridge vent with metal roofing. I thought about laying it down, running the metal over it and then installing the cap. I was concerned a hard rain could get pushed up under the ridge and leak into the vent. Then I though I would run it over the top of the metal and put the cap over to hold it in place, the problem here is that there were gaps created where the metal is higher up. What I decided to do, and I think will work well is nail it at each low spot right next to the R panel peaks. See picture. This keeps the batting down tight against the metal and should shed any rain away. The nails hold it securely. I originally tried screws, but they kept wrapping up around the batting, nails work much better. After nailing it down, I put standard ridge cap over it.

Pricey in my opinion but easy to apply - will be happy in the summer!
I had great luck with this ridgevent, I kinda over built the vent area with nailing the vent itself and then the 3-tab cap over the vent, but should work ok. It's also a little pricey in my opinion, but probably worth it. When the summer rolls around I will report back!Update: I went thru one summer and initially felt the shed was still hotter than ambient temperature. About halfway thru the summer & fall it seemed closer to the outside air, I didn’t really notice the heat. So it does seem to work somewhat. I wish I could compare the shed with and without the vent, but it is what it is. So, my review is not 100% conclusive, but I do think it provides some benefit on the really hot days. It’s not like I’m living in my shed though...Update 2019-01-04: I've seen some other sheds using this vent, and apparently the cutouts in my roof were not large enough. So again my venting does provide some benefit on the really hot days, but it could be better with larger cutouts.

Not sure about this product
I don't like the feel of this product. Seems flimsy and nailing it isn't that easy to not smash down where you nail it.I haven't put the cap shingles on it yet, but won't be surprised if it fails...Should have went with the Cobra III vent...And will prob end up ripping this off...What a waste of $50+...

Great for my non traditional vent structure.
I used this vent in a non traditional manner as part of a custom built roof ridge structure, to get greater vent function with the deep snow accumulations that we have in our region. Easy to cut (using a hand held disc grinder) and to work with, I'm pleased with the product.
