Nice multi-purpose glasses
I bought these back in 2009 as glasses to wear while cycling. The features that made it excel there for anyone considering a similar use were these:* nice tight wrap-around shape kept a lot of the wind off my eyes. This was important since I wore contacts and the air would dry them out like crazy. Had no problem with that once I used these.* Slight tint/shading helped soften the time in the bright light while not seriously causing a hazard when entering dark tunnels or other areas. I was worried about too dark of glasses being dangerous, but no issue with these.* the safety glass material meant I wasn't afraid of crashing and ending up with smashed glass in my face, and it added a small amount of protection for my eyes/face. I used this more often than I would like to admit. The one thing that annoyed me - the foam on the sides of the frame kept peeling off the frame and generally was a pain unless super glued back. It could have been adhered better.Overall, these performed very well. I had my share of wipe-outs, including one particularly nasty one that kept me out of commission for 2-3 months. These glasses only suffered minor scrapes from crashes that left me looking like I had gotten into a fight with a sand blaster. I have no qualms about recommending these.

Cheap and surprise use!
These are sold as high impact safety glasses. I read an article that stated the yellow lens helps vision during night driving and heavy rains...the kind where winshield wipers are on full speed. So, I bought these and threw them into my glove compartment thinking I would give them a try. Heavy rain, put them on and WOW...it's not THESE pair particularly, but the yellow lens in general that almost turned on a light in the heavy grey rain. I could see just the backside of two cars ahead of me without the yellow lens and putting them on I could see the entire car (two cars ahead of me). There is a difference. These are inexpensive and also feel comfortable to wear. At dusk they act as flashlights for the eyes...you just see more clearly and a bit more sharp during low light situations. I would guess they work well as high imapct safety glasses too, but I try not to work too hard, so I may never find out. The alternate use was never thought of before until I read about the effectiveness, and I really find them helpful to see much more clearly in lower light situations while driving, so they are my go too glasses in the glove box when it is pouring rain or at dusk in unfamiliar areas.

DON'T wear these for night driving.
*** Preface: I'm sorry to write a review addressing an unintended use of this product, but someone needs to respond to all the other reviewers doing so; particularly since it's a safety issue. ***As safety glasses, these are fine. Not very comfortable for long, but good for the price.Maybe even for driving during the day in grey conditions. But PLEASE don't wear these for night driving. Yes, they cut down on some of the glare -- so it's tempting. But they also render dim objects completely invisible, creating a much greater potential hazard for you and for others in your way. By dimming the whole field of view, they raise the threshold of brightness an object must be to stand out from the background.Imagine a pedestrian in dark clothes on the side of the road at night. They're hard enough to see without these, but with these that person is likely to be completely invisible.Or, if you're more worried about your own safety than someone else's, imagine a car at night without headlights. People forget their headlights all the time, and though it's their fault if something happens, you won't care whose fault it was if you end up in an accident with them. These glasses make it that much harder to see that car.I wish I could recommend something else for night driving, but I'm still looking.

GREAT GLASSES for ALL KINDS OF USES!
The only reason this didn't get 5-stars is because the frames of the glasses are a bit tight (I'm not a fat-head; just have a large head!). The clarity is excellent, and I use these both for protecting my eyes while working with substances that could burn, splint or splash in them, but they are GREAT driving glasses in the rain! Totally clears the vision up in those driving situations where visibility is not good due to fog, rain, mist (from the cars in-front of you on wet roads), or driving in the snow (yes, I've seen snow here in California!). I put these in the car when I'm not using them inside for woodworking, paint stripping, etc. Amber-colored lenses have been around for years, and they're basically the principle of the popular sunglasses, "EAGLE EYES". However, you don't see with an orange tint here; it's clear with just a hint of yellow (amber). I recommend these to anyone who wants a clearer view of life.

They are ok glasses but not great for night driving
I ride a Harley and was looking for some decent night driving glasses. When they arrived the quality was good, but the arms didn't open up easily and I almost felt like I'm going to break the glasses every time I open them up. They really are not that great for night riding because of the distortion (unevenness) in the lens and the bad headlight reflection. The distortion is pretty bad. I can move my head around looking through different parts of the lens and the image changes and distorts pretty bad. Although the Yellow lens do help you see better in the dark, the on coming car headlight create a "star burst" pattern making it pretty difficult to look at. I found at times I was squinting every time a car passed with it's bright headlights. You honestly get what you pay for and this time I'm going to look at Yellow or clear distortion free polarized lens for night riding. The polarized lens helps with the star burst pattern coming off the headlights and any reflections. I'd save your money and look somewhere else. Oh I tried the "Dewalt" glassed and they were the worst!!! Oh beware of buying some of these glasses because like my post for the Dewalt glasses, they make you pay to return them and the shipping is more than the glasses. Also they won't refund you until they "resell them" and thats just wrong....so basically you send in the glasses at your cost, have nothing and never receive a refund.....
