Size smaller than expected and defect in construction.
The shoes seem like they would be great, unfortunately they are smaller than expected. I ordered and received a 12 4E. I own other Asics in the same size which I compared to these. There is about a 1/4" difference in length and 1/8" to 3/16" difference in width depending on where you measure. There is also an area under the insole on the right shoe where the fabric under liner is sewn incorrectly causing a lump under the right big toe. For a shoe this expensive, I would expect a little better quality control in both size and construction. You can see the size difference compared to another insole from the same size Asics in one of the pictures, and it's difficult to make out in the second photo, but this is where the liner is folded and sewn incorrectly causing discomfort. I I am going to try them in a larger size and will update this review once I do.

Shoe changed! Smaller and more narrow among other issues. WHY?
I checked my Amazon order history. I've been buying the Gel Nimbus since version 13 in 2012. I order two pair every time Asics release a new version. Like the other reviewers said, the Gel-Nimbus 19 run smaller and narrower. I didn't read the reviews until after I tried the shoe on. Why would I since I've been buying the same shoe for over half a decade. I knew as soon as I put them on my feet they weren't the same. My toe immediately touched the end and felt tight in the fore foot. I can't speak for the insoles as I always order a pair of green Super Feet with every pair due to plantar faciitis. Why in the world would Asics do this? I sincerely hope the next version is a return to the old fit and quality. :(

Size & Cushion changed
Coming from Nimbus 17 but skipped the Nimbus 18 because of heel issues reported by other reviewers. I'm giving these Nimbus 19 a 3.5. Got my usual 2E width and I'd say it's 10% tighter in the forefoot compared to the Nimbus 17 I'm replacing. Cushioning is about 20% less. No doubt due to the visibly smaller gel and the reportedly harder Flytefoam layer.Regarding the tight-fitting forefoot, loosening up the laces in the forefoot area fixed that. And for the somewhat harder ride, breaking them in or wearing thicker socks might alleviate that problem. What made Asics decide to make the Nimbus less cushioned to almost Kayano-like levels is beyond me. Hopefully once I break these in they'll be ok for my next marathon coming up in May.

Asics goes backwards in shoe fit and quality - too bad.
4th generation of Gel-Nimbus (started with 15's) and these Gel-Nimbus 19's are definitely narrower than previous generations. I always get 2E, may have to get 4E from now on. I'm hopeful the gel and foam will hold up better than Gel-Nimbus 18's which broke down terribly, sounding like popping corn during running and walking. It's unfortunate Asics has gone backwards and not forward with the generations. I think the best generation was Gel-Nimbus 17's. Wish they were available. I'll give these a month but may which to Mizuno going forward.

To Smal...
I've ordered the same size Gel-Nimbus as long as I can remember. These seem to be a size smaller. I put them on and they were far to snug. Toe Box was cramped. I most likely will go into the local store to try on a few different sizes of these and see if maybe the next size up fits like my normal size. If not, I will be switching to a new brand shoe. I need a neutral shoe and there isn't many decent ones to pick from from Asics.

Poor fit and Quality
I have been very disappointed the the fit and the quality of materials. I have been a long time runner and have almost always worn Asics Gel-Nimbus running shoes. This will be my last pair. I started years ago with my first Half Marathon in the Gel-Nimbus 3's and now they are up to the 20's. After the poor performances of the 18 and 19's I will look to another brand. This after only 3 months of use.

Avoid at all costs Nimbus fans!
I was really excited to find a deal on Amazon for the latest iteration of the Nimbus. I have been wearing these for the better part of the decade and have been very satisfied with the shoe. I am an avid runner, and require a neutral shoe with cushioning, and the Nimbus is king in this regard. However, from the second I put these on, I felt like I was in a shoe a full size too small. The toebox was super tight all around and the sizing is definitely small. I wear a normal width 9.5 in the Nimbus 18, and felt like I would need a 10.5 Wide in order to get something close to fitting. The shoes immediately went back in the box and back to Amazon. I am not sure why Asiscs would implement such a drastic change in their most expensive shoe, but if they don't fix it with the 20's, I will have to find another brand to go with.

If you're a larger person with flat feet who needs to start running or walking...start with this pair
Not the "sexiest" running show compared to other models out there, but when you wear 4E 11.5 shoes, there are few to choose from. I chose these as a break from New Balance brand that I normally buy. As a chiropractor, I recommend to my patients their "every-day" running shoes should NOt celebrate an anniversary - they need to be replaced annually. the mid-foot cushioning loses the effective shock-absorbing capacity before the tread shows signs of wear and tear. I have decided to heed my own advice. As a 185 pound guy, I run very comfortable in these. The toe box is adequate. I replace the insoles with my own custom orthotic, which allows my feet to fit snug, not tight, with socks on. My feet do not slip or slide in the shoes. I have room to cross my toes (an indicator of a roomy toe box. These will make great walking shoes as well, but the have great cushioning and mid-foot stabilizing bar than helps reduce pronation while running for flat-footed people like myself. My knees feel good after a 5km run or longer, where in the past, shoes with poor support restrict the distance I can run , and prolong the time it takes for my knees to recover from a run. There are men (and women) out there like myself who are looking for a reliable, supportive, well-cushioned running shoe that does the job well. Pick these up if you're not overly concerned about keeping up with the most current "colour trends" in running footwear!
