Cool factor infinity and beyond
As a previous metal worker in the cold war era Titanium was a material of legend. The Soviets had the main source in smelting Ore (It's not rare in nature just not in concentrated refinable amounts). As aerospace needed large quantities for special products like the the SR71 project skullduggery was employed to straw buy it from "the enemy".... That would make a good book I bet.This "billet" is a fantastic affordable desk MacGuffin. While I do not have a way to test for 999 Fine purity it is without doubt light for its size, non magnetic and the incredible heat resistant properties that Ti exhibits. The finish is a nice dull matt, the laser engraving is clear and on center. The edges retain sharp corners and could be viewed as dangerous by the infantile. Weight indicated its plus half an ounce over a pound of the stuff, so not intended as a calibrated device.All the cool kids have one of these....

I got a good deal on this, but it’s very self explanatory; Pure titanium makes for a very cool ingot and hopefully a good investment on the low end.As an element collector, this made for a perfect addition.
